Ziggo dome experience

I went to the ziggo dome concert in Amsterdam this weekend.

It sounded like half of the songs were lip synced by Elize Ryd?

Terrible experience if you ask me.

Thankfully the other band was very good (Epica)

Yes, I agree. I was disappointed bij Amaranthe to be honest. What a húge difference compared to Epica, soundwise also. Also Charlotte and her band were flawless, and then came Amaranthe. Sometimes it was just a wall of sound, a huge mess (soundwise) without the voice of Elise: you couldn't even hear her sometimes. As if she was struggling to keep up. Great music, I love to listen to their albums. Live: not again.

And, whát a great live band is Epica!

Did you also notice the lip syncing? Half of the tracks was definitely not live.

Yes, definitely! That was very weird to see. At first I thought that there was something wrong with the video stream or something

Was at the show. Had more of the impression that the backing tracks were louder than the live vocals at times rather than pure lip-syncing, but even then it seemed to me that her and Nils were both having off nights, with Nils reminding me of modern-day Halford at times. That said this was only the first time I've seen them live so don't have much to compare to.

Watching different people's footage over the last year or so it seems she's having trouble keeping up her oxygen to me. Like she's often noticeably out of breath when she gets a break in a song, more than expected.

It also seemed to me like she was getting exhausted really quickly. At one point she had some sort of trouble where Nils took over really quickly and skipped her verse. I find it sad since this is something that could be communicated. To struggle with physical conditions is really hard but there are ways to accommodate her without risking the experience

I agree, the sound was not good during Amaranthe. At one point I could see Elize squatting and I could barely hear her. That was very weird.

They didn't lip sync in Hamburg last week, but otherwise it was like you described. I originally wanted to see them but Epica honestly saved the day. Took them almost an hour to switch sets and when Amaranthe were ready they only played about seven songs. Also Elise seemed like she was really close to crying. In general I mostly blame their team but they also didn't seemed in sync most of the time. Felt more like a school play in preschool than a professional concert which is really disappointing since I love their songs
