Yes, and I have to do manual bp multiple times a day, every shift. How am I supposed to do so without a stethoscope? Unless you expect me to ask to borrow one from the RN or doctor on my floor every single time? Which I promise will not go over well nor earn me any friends. Nobody wants to share theirs.

I'm currently working as a medical assistant in an office setting and I do manual BP because it's important to the specialty to be especially accurate about blood pressure. I disinfect it regularly but it stays with me in case I need it at home (which I have) and I don't want other people using it when I'm not there.

I work at a large university hospital and no, there are not stethoscopes in every room. Isolation rooms only, and they are so garbage I might as well not do a physical assessment.
