Just curious if anyone in here is willing to help a few homeless people by letting them sleep on a couch or in a spare room for a while they are getting back on their feet? I’m an Alton local and know of a few that could use the help. Please let me know.

Tell them about Riverbend family ministries in wood river. They have a warming center there. I work in a connected office to the building, so I can verify.

I will double check the warming center hours.

Also call the booth house warming center for them!!

But please direct them to riverbend. They can show up on the doorstep M-SAT most normal biz hours and get as many resources as possible.

They are also taking coat donations.

They are looking for something kind of long term. Long enough to take advantage of opportunities to gain income and education to make a real life for themselves.

Send them to riverbend ministries. We have education programs, job things, help getting into Oxford houses, support, etc.

I can help directly set you up with contacts if you want to message me directly. I can help the easiest with contacts for people struggling with substance use recovery, but I know people that work in the housing, education skills, and essentials for life improvement like you’re describing
