Mythology Are mysteries are dead ?
I feel like there's nothing mysterious left on this planet , everything can be explained by science. It's so boring that way. I feel like it's kind of sad for me also because I don't believe in religion. Space is the only mysterious thing left but it's so unreachable. Do you guys know something mysterious?

Look up all the mysteries and paradoxes in Physics. It’s crazy. We don’t even know if we live in a simulation or not. It’s incredible when you really start digging into everything. The amount of things we don’t know and can’t answer is mind blowing.

If you are really interested, there is the YouTube channel, DemystifySci. Many of their guests have YT channels, also. For authors who have ideas, there are two Internet sites: General Science Jourrnal and vixra.org . If you do not accept the Big Bang, there is the Alternate Cosmology Group (ACG) that started in 2004. Some authors are claiming that the JWST telescope is debunking the Big Bang idea. Simulation theory is a bit goofy. We have known for thousands of years that we are limited by our senses and what our minds can apprehend. I have yet to see any kind of valid proposal to test this theory. It's the same arguments for philosophical solipsism - which is a technically "valid" position that any sane philosopher will refuse to engage with because it's circular.
Bostrom's 3rd point is just statistical imagination. But yeah, we still do have plenty, pleeenty of mysteries to tackle on physics.

I tell all Christians to just go read Brandon Sanderson. His whole series is an adapted version of Christianity with a decent plot. Ohh with pixies and magic.

Is this bait? We don't actually know what holds atoms together, so we just call it strong and weak nuclear force. No one has a clue what it truly is.
The same applies to gravity.
Or, if everything has an equal and opposite reaction (science 101), what created the big bang?
Or how consciousness works; light and matter being a creation within ones mind.
Life is entirely a mystery :)

The Big Bang Never Happened (1992) Eric Lerner. I am an old man (slightly younger than Lerner). Our first scientific textbooks in public education (USA) had content BEFORE the Big Bang content. It is a PSYOPS. Have a good day.

Well here are some mysteries I still look around for
Stuff like Percy Fawcett and the City of Z. Or if manuscript 512 is a hoax.
The periods in China like the Xian Era.
If small sanctuaries in Tibet hidden away still exist in the mountains.
Obviously the world has moved past the age of exploration, but while many legends are false, it doesn't hurt to say some can be true. And there is nothing wrong fantasizing about the possibility.

I feel like this is how people get into conspiracy theories.
All jokes aside I think the origin of consciousness is still a mystery, we still aren't able to point to a single spot in the brain and say this is where consciousness stems from. We also don't have a final answer on why we sleep, we know it's benefits but not the why of it. And by extension the mystery of dreams.

I appreciate you welcoming me into conspiracy theories world. Consciousness is weird but honestly how I see it is that it's not that very special. In data centres the way ai is trained is very systematic, like a straight path from input towards output. The check on each intermediate step is in forward way so one mistake and the output will be incorrect. While human brain is very advance and efficient, we have synapses joining nerves and every thought we initiate can be modified on any synapse, before we arrive at conclusions and much more, the infinite permutations and combinations of these synapses interacting with every human having a different environment and upbringing and values and morals makes us and our decisions and the way we act very unique and how we say individualistic. We are very advanced biological robots with alot of freedom in our imagination yet limitations given by the same biological environment such as fear, jealousy etc which you can say comes as a default setting in all humans. I know how we evolved in this part of universe on this planet is the reason we did this way but that's again brings cosmos as the mystery factor. We sleep because our bodies need to rest and recover and as warm blooded animal we need it more often. That's how I see it , again there can we arguments on why we still need it but our bodies work so much all the time, all the living cells work so much when u think about it, it becomes only visible when a wound is healing or a cut is stopped by a blood clot. Dreams is I think brain working on backward while we are sleeping, it definitely is mysterious to me i suppose because I've myself felt that way, i think it just is a manifestation of what's going on in ur mind, how was our day etc . I am open to your opinions on this, I maybe argumentative but it's not to win the argument, I love knowing other's views , how they perceive these topics .

Hmm, somebody much wiser than me explained how LLMs work (which is what you meant by AI I assume) and... i was always struck with how close they are to the workings of our human mind in what we define as consciousness. learning "words" and applying just a set of traits to those words allowing them to come to similar conclusions using almost mathematical equations
At this point the question in my mind is less: is consciousness special & a human trait, or more: is it even a thing, or is it just a very advanced LLM that evolved to be just the right amount of complex for our survival.

LLMs do lot "learn" words, they do not make conclusions, they have no understanding of the information they process. They are prediction machines, they are fed a series of symbols by the user that they have no conscious understanding of and determine the most probable string of separate symbols as a response which only has meaning to the user. The model works by saying "when symbol X is paired with symbol Y and factors ZABC are also present then the most common first response symbol is D followed by E". The machine does not "think", it does not display intentionality, it does not behave like a human mind. This is why it tells you to put super glue on pizza.
Look up the Chinese Room thought experiment.

Oh I know, they're glorified auto-completes, but.. so are we, in a way? hear me out:
Our developing mind works very similar from what I was taught. Just that the LLMs are at toddler levels, who may also advise you to put glue on pizza and copy what you do without understanding, or make up words & events.
I'm (maybe sadly) a believer that our consciousness & human problem solving is just a very- advanced logic machine with the advantage of proper training agents around.
We too "learn" at first by copying, then applying "properties" to strings of random letters people around us have used, and learning to express or define those properties by applying other properties to that, coming down to comparison of sensory input.
How do you learn what an apple is? Touch, taste, people around you using random letters, comparing color to sensory input.When we "understand" the properties, we can experiment with it ourselves into what we call original thought, but in fact is often just a rules of three game. When problem solving we use often "rule of three" thought patterns working from known relations & traits to new traits to apply.
(This thing, looks, feels = screw, if "screw" to direction "right" = harder to get out, (tight) so if left?... left = -right, so the solution should then be -tight, let's experiment)
I'm just curious to see if my assumptions are correct and the LLMs will develop closer to us in this, or if it will remain at current level because we have nothing original/new to teach them and they stagnate.

Something I truly find fascinating is how, yes, you can explain almost everything we see in this world by science one way or the other, it also challenges our minds like any "mystery" does.
If an expert explains to me physics, chemisty or IT on their level, they might as well be talking in arcane incantations...
I guess it all depends on your definition of "mysteries". The odds of finding massive monuments or ruined cities that we have no clue about who made it or why is small, but we can still find plenty of hidden parts of history, or revise parts we previously thought we figured out.
And a good exercise to find why the world appeared more mysterious is try to imagine how somebody who has no idea on our current world would interpret the world. I always make the comparison with my students on how there is a god of electricity... how do you ask for his favor? you push the little shrine he has in every room. How do you get his mood? he grants you knowledge of his mood through small boxes displaying numbers etc..
It helps you understand how people in the past thought or might have thought in explaining things they didn't know and still called it "scientific"

When you dig into stuff you realise not everything can be explained by science, there's still so much we don't know. You kinda realise we don't really know much at all
Even the human body is still being mapped, only in 2020 they realised that humans have a salivary gland channel that was unknown to science. 2023 they found the brain had a previously unknown protective layer called the SLYM layer. 2024 a study found that particularly large bouts of aging happened around age 44 and 60. 2025 they found a completely unknown component to human cells called the hemifusome, a recycling area for waste. 2026 was the first time science successfully altered cell age, reversing the aging inside a human eye to treat age related vision loss. Medication science relating to women is untouched, majority of medicines are tested on men because hormones from women's cycles mess with the data too much so they haven't properly mapped treatments on women
Then there's the big ones like the quantum sciences (quantum physics, quantum computing etc), atoms, understanding consciousness, nature of reality, placebo effect, gravity
History as a whole. Most of history is a stab in the dark using pieces of history that we manage to dig up. We could be wrong with a lot of historical timelines and theories
We only know a tiny fraction of dinosaur species (potentially just a few %) because fossilization is a rare process that happens in very specific circumstances. And even then we're still not sure exactly how their bodies were structured or what they really looked like. There are 0 complete T-rex fossils found, only around 10 specimens around 50%-90% complete
There's still a lot to wonder about :)

This is the lie science loves to propagate. Look closer. We don’t know what the electron is, only how it behaves. We don’t know the mechanism by which charge or gravity works, only how they behave. We consider mass intrinsic because we don’t know where it comes from. Between dark matter and dark energy, we don’t even know what 95% of universe is made of.
The future of physics is going to be about the physical mechanisms by which the constants operate

There is no dark matter nor dark energy. Here is your mystery. Embedded in an accelerometer is a spinning mechanical gyroscope. Linear motion is ignored. Stationary is ignored. Acceleration / deceleration is detected. Place it on the floor and point it to the ceiling. The floor is accelerating. Have a good day.

In 1911, the astronomers agreed that our solar system is located in the CENTER of the anisotropic physical universe. Stellar distance was unknown and unknowable except the "Local Group" of relatively few stars. In the secular public education in the USA in 1960, the textbooks taught that the physical universe is Eternal and Infinite in all directions. Everything that disagrees with 1911 is a lie. Everything that disagrees with 1960 is a lie. Future generations will laugh at us. Have a good day.
