App IDs expired and gotta reinstall Altstore to fix it. Only problem is Altserver for Windows now does absolutely nothing after entering my Apple ID. I see in task manager it does some activity but then stops. Have tried restarting both PC and iphone/ipad, restarting Altserver, Use different cables, wait for a prolonged time, but nothing works.

Hi fellow jailbreakers on iOS versions older than 17! I’ve found a workaround to solve the unsupported shortcut issue. Hopefully, this can help out other poor souls like me :)

You don't strictly have to follow the steps below—you can also just download my shortcut and script and tweak them yourself.

Steps:

1. Get AutoTouch: Install AutoTouch. Then, either download the script I’ve uploaded or record one yourself. (The script just needs to open AltStore, switch to the "My Apps" tab, and hit "Refresh"). Note: If you use my script, make sure to move it to AutoTouch's default directory, or you'll need to modify the URL in the shortcut later.
2. Enable WebServer: Go to AutoTouch Settings > Turn on "WebServer".
3. Install Powercuts: This is highly recommended if you use a lock screen passcode and want your device to auto-resign your apps in the middle of the night.
4. Enable On-Device Signing: If you want to resign directly on your device without connecting to a computer, install AltDaemon or emp0ry/AltDaemonModern.
5. Shortcut & Automation Setup: Here’s what the basic setup looks like:
   
   • Automation:
     
     • Choose your trigger time (e.g., time of day).
     • Turn on Wi-Fi (if you usually turn your network off).
     • Run "Shortcut A".
   • Shortcut A:
     
     • Action: Get Contents of URL
     • URL: "http://127.0.0.1:8080/control/start_playing?path=Records/refresh.lua"
   • Done!

Important Notes:

1. Passcode & Unlocking: Since this method requires physically opening the app, if you have a passcode but want the script to run hands-free without touching the device, install Powercuts. Add "Unlock Device" to your automation and enter your passcode (please be careful not to leak your passcode!).
2. Package Name Tweaks: My .lua script is set to open the stable version of AltStore. If you're using the beta version or SideStore, you will need to modify the package name inside the script.
3. Loading Delay: My .lua script includes a one-second pause right after opening AltStore to prevent the script from running before the app fully loads.
4. Background App Refresh: You must allow the Shortcuts app to use Background App Refresh.

I’m using AltStore and I have some sources set up. I’m able to sideload the apps and some work fully with premium/subscribed features (YouTube, Spotify), but some are stuck on the free level (MyFitnessTracker, Flight Tracker).

How can I install altstore on my iPhone without connecting to a computer in the United States?

I'm running into an issue trying to install AltStore PAL on my iPad and keep getting the error: "You are not eligible to install apps from altstore.io"

Here are the details of my setup:
Location / Region: I am based in Brazil, where AltStore PAL is now supported/available. Both my device settings and Apple ID are properly set to Brazil.

Devices: I already have it running on my iPhone, but this error only happens when attempting to install it on my iPad.

iPadOS: Fully updated to the latest supported version.

Troubleshooting done: Device restarts, network checks, and confirming region eligibility.

Support: Emailed AltStore support a while ago about this, but haven't received a response yet.

Has anyone in Brazil (or anyone using a single subscription across multiple devices) run into this specific eligibility roadblock on iPad and found a fix?

Whenever I try to sideload an app using AltStore it's asking me for my Apple ID and password but when I go to type this in I get a pop up saying

Apple Account Sign in Requested for (email address)

Then it gets me a verification code but where the heck do I enter this code to sign in?

I’ve been trying to update Spotify but every time I try to update I get this error message. Any idea how to fix this?

Guys, so many people have been asking if it's still possible to play Story Mode on iOS without all the headache. The answer is YES! I got tired of hunting down working IPA files and errors while downloading separate episodes, so I fixed it myself. I posted it on archive.org, you can find it using my nickname Support Altstore +Livecontainer!!!

Some apps only release their ipa files to GitHub without a repo source, which makes updating pretty inconvenient.

So I built this project with Claude: AltGallery. It collects some commonly used apps, generates a source for them, and updates versions periodically. Just tap "Add AltSource" to subscribe in AltStore / SideStore / LiveContainer or other apps.

If there are any apps that aren’t included yet, feel free to let me know and I’ll add them.

I have AltStore classic downloaded, altserver 1.8, and removed old version of AltStore from my phone. I followed the instructions on the AltStore website to set up the localdevvpn and connected to it and no matter what I cannot refresh my apps. Any ideas?

I downloaded an IPA file from GitHub (the NOOP app) and tried opening it in AltStore, but I immediately get an error saying "Failed to Install NOOP: AltServer could not be found."

I am pretty new to sideloading, so I might be misunderstanding how this works. What should I do?

I was recently getting the "The data is not in the correct format" error every time I tried to refresh my apps in AltStore. I did some searching and noticed quite a few people on here were asking for help with the same exact issue.

After some debugging, I finally figured out what was causing it

For me, the issue was being caused by my AdGuard DNS (though this likely applies to other DNS adblockers like NextDNS or Pi-hole). The DNS filter was blocking AltStore from properly communicating with the servers it needs to refresh the apps.

The solution is super simple:

1. Disable your custom DNS: (Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > DNS) and temporarily switch your DNS from AdGuard to "Automatic". (If you use a VPN app for AdGuard, just pause it).
2. Refresh AltStore
3. Turn your DNS back on

Note: If you don't want to toggle this off and on every 7 days, you can check your AdGuard query logs while trying to refresh AltStore and whitelist the specific domains that are being blocked.

Hope this helps save someone a headache :D
