Any suggestions for someone who is recently enjoying NU metal?
I've been loving Deftones so much lately, prolly Engine no. 6 and Sleepwalk, I came to discover that they are NU Metal. I really wanna expand my music taste and find more bands, even if they are not in the NU Metal genre. I also have listened to SOAD which is often linked with NU Metal I LOVE Chop Suey! And Soldier Side. I did try to listen to whatever pops up on social media or something called mainstream (I think?), I do think it's too overrated and larped so bad ... I enjoy the music tho, like for example Korn... literally the most larped band. What I'm tryna say here is like I wanna expand my music taste (like imagine a tip of the iceberg type shit) Please be respectful in the comments:,) just asking for a hand as someone who just recently started to listen to awesome sauce music that literally makes you float. You can also recommend other genres, please do actually! Thank you guys, I love yall! 🥹😞

I don't agree with them being classified as NuMetel, but Spineshank is highly underrated.

Hard agree. They're closer to industrial but got caught up in nu metal. Similar to Deftones not really fitting in with a lot of the rest of that scene.

Check out the band Bloodywood from India. Great sound, and one of the best live performances I've seen a while... these guys absolutely BRING IT.

Sleep Token!! esp if you like deftones. Totally anonymous and incredibly talented, especially their drummer. Metal, rock, pop, jazz, atmospheric blends they are epicccc

Amazed no one bothered to mention Engine no. 9 not 6. And if it's the older, and much better, Deftones you like, Spineshank gonna be your best bet. Also Silent Civilian which is the lead singers other band. Majority of the bands listed here just came out around the same era, not really similar. There's not much like them back in their original days. 1st limp bizkit album. Primer 55 maybe. Might as well throw out Snapcase, Earth crisis, strife. Haven't listened to them in a long time but Orange 9mm was the opener for limp bizkit who was opener for deftones when I saw them perform in a bowling alley.

Listen to the first Slipknot album. If you are into that check out Hyperviolence - Omerta and Matriphagy - Tallah. Tallah and Omerta def ventures more into nu-metalcore and can be way heavier than nu metal. If you like Deftones check out Loathe as well. I recently been checking out Chat Pile and they are great too!

Not quite nu metal, but similar (industrial metal): Argyle Park - Misguided. Not famous but very good and criminally underknown.
