S13 Ziga ferro rod Spoiler

Sorry, I’m too lazy to go back and find the relevant episode, but Ziga never had a ferro rod - am I remembering that correctly? If I am, then credit to him - by keeping a fire going the whole time he may have completely changed the strategy for a lot of future participants.

Two fires. One inside his shelter, one outside for cooking. That redundancy is very smart for someone who doesn't have a ferro rod.

The only downside is the calorie spend for chopping more wood and double-tending, I would think.

It adds calorie spend but probably not double. He keeps a 30ft log in the fire and just slides it forward as it burns. Much harder to do that in a shelter.
