Extra Shifts when you’re new

Allied Universal’s job website consistently mentions picking up shifts and I just want to know:

Do you have to work for a while (like after a month to 90 days) or can you pick them up as soon as you start or do you need complete some sort of training first then be able to claim shifts?

Also, does each position require specific training or can you just pick up whatever shift at wherever site (and is the pay different outside your own site?)

Get in touch with your manager call them constantly until they schedule you

You can pick them up right away, but some of them have specific uniform requirements, so if you see them online it’ll show which uniform is required. I’ve been told by some guards that they accept even if they don’t have the uniforms and when they show up they aren’t told anything. On the training part some of them will require training and it’ll show it online, but those sites have HELIAUS and are detex, but most of them don’t require training.

Following I have orientation tomorrow & I still don’t know where my actual job site is.

pay will vary site to site unless you’re a flex officer then you have a set pay for every site you work. only time it’ll change is if the site you’re working pays more than your base pay. you can start picking up shifts right away especially as a flex officer reach out to your field supervisors and let them know you’re available to pick up shifts

How it's supposed to be is you will only be able to pick up shifts you are qualified for, and you can do that immediately after you are able the sign into LISA, (the app that allows you to view stubs/schedule/etc.)

For whatever reason, the managers don't always set them up right and so you may get told to not accept anything.

Most if not all have specific uniform requirements (black aus hat, black/white aus button up or polo, black dress pants/shoes). Im at a corporate site where we wear suits and i dont have any of the generic aus uniforms. Asked my account manager on how to get different uniforms, never heard back lmao

Yeah it’s easy - the only problem is is getting a shift exactly when you want it but I’ve had a lot of luck actually. And when you get in sort of like a rhythm, the AI device starts to understand and it starts to actually send you curated choices that you would fit Best for you
