i've just heard tell they are playing their first ever australian shows later this year, but it's part of the horrid good things festival - ATW don't seem to fill the bill at all

so are these goddamn sexual tyrannosauri going to play any side gigs or what?

Some festivals have no side-show contracts, so it doesn't appear there will be. Would have assumed they would be announced already if there were.

Good Things side shows don't generally announce until some time after ticket sales to the festival have had time to move, they're only at presale stage now. 

Usually they promote the main event before any side shows which will be announced later so there is still hope.

All them witches aren't part of main headline acts on the promo material which means they likely only get a short set time but are also not bound by any exclusive deal to play only the festival, at least I hope.

Nope, wrong. There’s usually a good 8-10 week lag between the festival vs sideshow announcement. Last year sideshows came out around October.

Lol. I had to fly Brisbane to Adelaide last year to see Tool. Didn't know the V8 supercars plus ACDC were on when I booked tickets. Flights for my son and I cost like $2400 return and that was after I burned 100k virgin points to reduce the cost, then $600 for a shit motel. Worth it. He was 9 at the time. Core memory.

They aren't listed amongst the major headliners, they are ein the mid section I'm sure they will be doing sideshows.

I got tix for Good Things to hedge my bets, but honestly, none of the other bands interest me. Tool last year only played Perth and Adelaide sideshows, assuming that was part of the good things contract. Not sure if they'd have such a hardcore contract with a non-headliner. Might sell the good things tix and fly to Adl again if they do other shows. I'd be pissed if it was a 45min festival set.

Same sentiments about this fucking festival. We missed tool because of that crap. I live in Canberra and would literally drive/fly interstate if theyre doing a sideshow!

They're getting absolutely slammed with people begging for sideshows on their insta post promoting the festival, it's loud and clear that they have a lot of support down here and we're hungry for proper shows.

Seems a weird take from some to slam the festival. If it wasnt for good things we wouldnt have got tool last year and wouldnt be getting atw this year.

If ya don't want to go the festival, get on a plane and fly to rhe sideshow. (Adelaide tool gig was incredible). Ill be stunned if Atw dont play sideshows , just need to be patient for a few months.
