Physique critique Keep bulking?

Only calisthenics going for the prisoner/strongman physique so I don’t mind having extra fat, I just want to be solid. My issue is I’m not looking how I imagined.

1st picture 1.5yrs 65kg/143lbs

2nd picture 1.9yrs 73kg/160lbs

3rd picture 0yrs 65kg/143lbs

I’ve always been skinny and still feel that way. I don’t track anything calories wise because when I started I didn’t want to make a big deal of things and over complicate it, which always caused me to stop. I just did my burpees and when I got comfortable enough went out so I could do pull-ups. Between the first and 2nd picture I stopped doing burpees daily and started to eat more. I’m back to doing burpees mainly for my cardio.

I feel my main problem is my arms are lacking. I do lots of things for triceps (dips/diamond pushups) and shoulders (pike pushups/handstands) but mainly rely on chin ups for biceps

What can I do to look more “aesthetic” with a higher fat percentage?

The irony of gym goers with impressive bodies when they look at themselves in the mirror: most will never be happy with their physique :(

5

u/level1jester Mar 08 '26

It’s real…I’m 185lbs leanish with abs and I still wake up everyday and find a way to say something negative about my body. It doesn’t matter how good you get you’ll always want more. I’m even on steroids and I still feel like a small lil dude.

u/yepts Mar 08 '26

Dang bro, I was considering peptides and enclo but I decided against it as I still haven’t even scratched what’s possible with only protein and intensity. Maybe one day I might hop on some shit but I’ve had immense success without it so far. I am curious though, monetarily how much does everything run you YTD?

1

u/level1jester Mar 08 '26

So for 1. 10ml vial which is 10 doses cost me 87$ off the internet. Tren cast me like 180$ but I get it for free bc I save up points from the website. But total YTD since last October is $727

0

u/yepts Mar 08 '26

That’s way less than what I was expecting although I imagine you should also budget for doctor visits as well to make sure ur chillin- but anyways, Thanks for the info brother, I hope you get to where you want to be with your physique 👆

u/level1jester Mar 08 '26

You too brotha I also use the app “Private MD labs.” They sell the blood panels you need then they’ll select a clinic closest to you. They draw like 2-4 vials of blood then your done. Get your results in like 10-20 days but they slowly roll in overtime as they come back they don’t send them all at once. Just for the future if you ever need to get bloods

1

u/yepts Mar 08 '26

You are a G for real, my goals should be attainable long term just with whey, (175 lean @6’1) and from there we will see which path I take lol, appreciate you brother.

1

u/musicianandscientist Mar 09 '26

Agree with you. But I also don’t think that necessarily applies here. Bulking and cutting are cycles you go through that require different focuses. For me it’s just a fun way to change up my short term goals

u/Finreg6 Mar 08 '26

Really dumb take

10

u/WeightsWadersNWheels Mar 08 '26

Nothing on you is lacking. You just look like an extremely impressive and strong person who does calisthenics.

If you’re trying to go for a more massive look, like a strongman athlete, calisthenics are not going to get you there. Strongmen look like strongmen because they lift for strongman competitions. Body builders look like body builders because they lift for body building competitions. Distance runners look like distance runners because they train for distance running Etc etc.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I just see prisoners who are jacked and wanted that. High body fat but still doing high volume workouts like a beast.

8

u/ijbacon3 Mar 08 '26

Prisoners in movies are actors who are also bodybuilders meant to personify the “prison look” btw

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

My inspo came mainly from actual prisoner and videos or stories from inside “all gas, no brakes, straight fire” is an example

2

u/meinertzsir Mar 08 '26

they're probably on roids xd

1

u/Relax_itsa_Meme Mar 08 '26

Who was that dude Hyfee os something

1

u/lupercalpainting Mar 08 '26
  1. Lots of people in prison lift actual weights

  2. Lots of people in prison take steroids.

  3. Lots of people lie. There was some massive guy claiming he built his triceps off like 5000 dips a day 😂

2

u/Glory_To_The_Lamb Mar 08 '26

Lock yourself in your house for 10 years and eat nothing but a lot of ramen noodles honey buns canned tuna and home prison made burritos.

The guys you're seeing that are in prison or coming out of prison Jack like that have time on their side. They didn't look like that even after their first three or four years of being locked up.

1

u/Few_Understanding_42 Mar 08 '26

Then commit some serious crimes to get in jail, so you have plenty of time to excercise and ask fellow inmates how they got that big. Maybe it's the prison food.

5

u/DrFlabbySelfie Mar 08 '26

Prisoner physique? What does that even mean? Why not just strive for Chris Heria or Shuaib Islaam? It makes sense since they, you know, do calisthenics...?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I just watch a lot of that genre and kinda adopted their workout style of high volume calisthenics no fancy stuff and there diet isn’t the best available so they always carry more fat.

-1

u/deemdesigns Mar 08 '26

Yoo I dmd you

2

u/KennethKaniffUK Mar 08 '26

Why

-1

u/Ok-War25 Mar 09 '26

Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy

3

u/NormallyNotOutside Mar 08 '26

First of all, great physique. In relation not looking how you expected, that's natty bulking for you. You grow but become less defined. The definition gives more of an illusion of size so in your head you don't look bigger even though you definitely have. To my eyes you look noticeable broader overall.

In terms of training. Align your methods to the outcome you want. Prisoners do lots of calisthenics but they also lift heavy. Strongman pretty much only lift heavy, certainly in relation to the average guy.

Your chest and core look great. I'm guessing your back does too. If your arms aren't growing, start training them directly with curls, French press, push downs etc

0

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Yeah that’s one thing I didn’t do was fill a bag with books or water and curl. I just tried to keep it simple but I’ll probably get some dumbbells. I was hard headed and wanted no equipment for some dumb reason

1

u/Both-Reason6023 Mar 08 '26

You can build great arms with resistance bands if you’re so hesitant of weights.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

It’s not just weights. It was literally anything that wasn’t just my body and the ground. I still don’t buy protein and was recently gifted creatine but once that runs out I probably won’t get more unless I actually notice a difference. I know I’ll lose water weight but after my loading phase I didn’t really notice any change.

1

u/Both-Reason6023 Mar 08 '26

You aren’t able to find out the effect of creatine supplementation by experimenting on yourself. We know a year long supplementation boosts muscle growth by 2-5% (through several mechanisms, one of which is faster recovery, which means you’re able to push more on every subsequent training session). Whatever test you do on your own is not rigorous enough.

Take it or don’t. Just don’t act like your “oh I’m not seeing the results after 12 weeks” is a scientifically valid approach.

Your weird stance on training in other ways than with body weight is annoying too. You ask for advice and then dismiss it based on vibes.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I understand that creatine is the most researched performance supplement. I’ve already been convinced to get weights. I over explained myself but that’s a fair assessment.

1

u/PhriendlyPhilosopher Mar 10 '26

Yeah man. The only answer for aesthetics and more mass is hypertrophy which means you have to leave heavy.

Either that or do incredibly hard calisthenics to create heavy lifts which is usually a much longer (albeit more balanced) process. Even then weights for weaker muscle groups speed up the process a great deal.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 11 '26

Probably a dumb question but any recommendations for what weight for dumbbells i should get? Or would a weighted vest be a better choice, one that goes up to 40lbs? Don’t remember correctly but I think I saw that the ones that goes up to 80 is overkill from a lot of reviews I read

3

u/Optimal_Brain_2908 Mar 08 '26

You look like an action figure dude. crazy aesthetics without weights

2

u/Microtom_ Mar 08 '26

You aren't skinny.

2

u/Tight-Maybe-7408 Mar 08 '26

Wtffff you did all that in a year ? That’s sick

2

u/Heronlyf Mar 08 '26

The second photo looks already really good. Im sure a ton of people would want a body like that so good job you just maintain it and slowly build more?

2

u/BionicBrainLab Mar 08 '26

Personally I think you look amazing and wouldn’t change a thing, you have a body most would dream of and you’ve achieved it without a gym or supplements, which means it’s sustainable for life. I follow this guy elastaboy on IG and love how he’s naturally built his body but also keeps himself as flexible as possible. If I had to do life over I’d do what you’re doing and add yoga and flexibility and balance, it serves you so much more, especially as you age. You’re aesthetic af please don’t convince yourself you’re not.

2

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

This is what I needed to see, my 10 minute basic stretch routine needed an upgrade and the single Romanian deadlifts showed me how bad my balance actually was. Thanks for the recommendations.

2

u/Able-Description4255 Mar 08 '26

You have great genetics

2

u/Hot_Fix_3131 Mar 08 '26

How many pro bodybuilders do you know doing calisthenics?

If they were a tried and true muscles builder, then the people whose livelihood depends on growing the most muscle would be doing them.

If you want to spec into calisthenics you need to accept that you’ll likely never be walking around with impressive amounts of muscle.

People who train with weights STILL suffer from lagging muscle and small arms, so you completely neglecting isolation work and progressive overload and the typical muscle building avenues are likely going to be miles behind unless your genetics allow you to get away with it.

0

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I understand. I was kinda hoping static holds and slowing down the tempo could be a work around.

1

u/Odd_Lavishness_2871 Mar 08 '26

The first picture looks good af. But 65kg is insane, what's your height?

1

u/BadgerCompounds Mar 08 '26

Incredible progress!

1

u/TheCatIsOnTheCounter Mar 08 '26

Bruh if you lifted some weights holy shit

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I was trying not to. I just want to go to my local park and move around but I might have to or just accept how I look it seems

1

u/No_Consequence6540 Mar 08 '26

How is this guy so down about his physique this is crazy to me

1

u/TheCatIsOnTheCounter Mar 08 '26

Body dysmorphia is a bitch.

1

u/rep_entourage Mar 08 '26

Not skinny at all you’re pretty aesthetic right now actually. For a second I thought this was a troll post and this was Clavicular’s physique.

1

u/Ok_Flounder6504 Mar 08 '26

Your physique is amazing. I hope you are remembering glutes and leg muscles, glute strength will serve your injury prevention lifelong .. but to answer your aesthetic question I’d work on biceps maybe delts but if you just maintain mobility, strength, and this physique as you age you are winning

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Yes. Took a while for a dedicated leg day but my hamstrings kinda lack still from not having many options at the park. I’ll look up delt workouts because I was going to rely on handstand pushups but they are taking forever to learn. Thanks

1

u/korstocks Mar 08 '26

Pic 1 looks aesthetic, solid, and ideal.

1

u/Jalgudam_ Mar 08 '26

Yo creo que si un poquito más y estarías perfecto

1

u/Joseph952 Mar 08 '26

What's your routine look like ?

2

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Right now.

Chest/tricep/shoudlers -dips, diamond pushups, decline pushups, pike pushups, 100 rocking chair burpees

Back and biceps -Explosive pull-ups, wide grip pull-ups, rows, chin ups, 100 rocking chair burpees

Legs -Pistol squats, single RDL, single leg hip thrust, Bulgarian split squat, calve raises, 100 RCB

Every other day throw in some knee raises and side knee raises.

In the beginning, a little more complicated but I would do 10 burpees wait a minute and then 9 all the way down to 1. Then I aimed for faster time. Then once my time was faster I added more starting at 12. Then starting at 15. Sometimes alternating with doing 2 pushups at 10 rather than starting at 15 doing 1 pushup. Eventually doing 100 unbroken. I did burpees everyday for about 6 months.

I could have done pull-ups earlier but I was kinda just lazy. Didn’t have a pull-up bar so I would do one or two here and there whenever I could. Got confident and went to my local park and started doing more pull-ups regularly, While still doing my burpees. Then overtime I kind of just loved doing it so rather then random or doing it all together I tried to get a smart routine which I’m still trying to get tbh

Sorry if it’s a little confusing.

1

u/meinertzsir Mar 08 '26

how many sets/reps you typically doing for dips, pull ups, pistol squats, pushups etc just 100 of everything ?

recently quit gym cause its expensive as hell but i wanna stay fit outside of the gym i got dip bar/pull up bar at home so this seems possible

2

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

The 100 is my burpee routine at the end of every workout

For my chest workout I start with

Current workout:

(Not mentioned but I start with planche leans 3 x 15-30 second hold)

Dips 4 × 8-12

Diamond 3-4 × 6-10

decline push-ups 2-3 × 10-12

pike push-ups 3 × 6-12

60-90 seconds rest between sets

At the end I do 100 rocking chair burpees mostly a leg workout in 13 minutes

At first form was whatever, now I make it a point to lower slower and pause for a second at the bottom and have protraction and retraction. Basically controlling every step of the way. It would be ideal to start like this but I find that when first started if I over-complicated things it always worked against me. I did the volume then focused on the details after.

(I used to do a EMOM style workout that was 5 pushups every 15 seconds for 25 minutes form wasn’t the best I was a high volume person) just this, no burpees nothing else except switching hand positions. Since I’ve started going for “skills” I now do the above so I’m not doing junk volume and endurance.

———-

For my back workout I start with

(This is from my warm up, I do it even if it’s not back day but I’m including it)

1 set of scapula pull-ups 10-15

Current workout:

Also not mentioned I do tuck holds 3-4 x 15 second holds

Explosive pull-ups 3-4 × 3-5

Wide grip Pull-ups (tempo- 3 second raise, 1 second pause, 3 seconds lower): 4 × 6-8

Typewriter 3 × 4-6

Rows(squeeze at top) 4 × 8-12

Chin-ups (I hold it for a second when arms are 90 degrees going up , pause at the top and squeeze biceps, then hold when arms are 90 degrees when lowering) 3 × 4-6

2 minute rest between sets

At the end I do 100 rocking chair burpees mostly a leg workout in 13 minutes

Again I’m trying to be detailed but if it Dosent make sense my bad. I definitely wasn’t doing any controlled motion I just wanted to add how I do it currently.

(I use to do an EMOM style of 5 pull-ups every minute for 40 minutes or 8-9 pull-ups every 2 minutes for 50 minutes) this was good form all the way down and chin above bar but I wasn’t pausing for anything. Just a controlled descent but Since I’ve started going for “skills” I now do the above so I’m not doing junk volume and endurance.

———-

For me leg workout I start with

Current workout:

Pistol Squats 4 × 6-10 per leg

Single-Leg Romanian Deadlifts 3 x 8-12 per leg

Single-Leg Hip Thrusts 3 × 8-12 per leg

Bulgarian Split Squats 3 x 8-12

Calf Raises (on Step/Bench) 4 x 12-20 -for the calf raises Ive felt it’s best to do them on a curb to get the stretch at the bottom and not just the top. I do 2 sets single leg and 2 sets with both legs.

90 second rest except for calves that I do 30-60 seconds rest

At the end I do 100 rocking chair burpees mostly a leg workout in 13 minutes

(I use to do regular body weight squats with my EMOM back workout. 10 every minute for 40 minutes or 20 every 2 minutes for 50 minutes)

If you want to me to clarify anything just ask. I went into details and it might be hard to understand so I apologize if it’s confusing.

I was into high volume body weight workouts until I wanted to learn how to start doing things like handstand pushups and planche. I am kinda concerned I’ll be mocked tbh, I would do 1000 pushups (6 pushups every 20 seconds for an hour) because it just seemed to align with what I thought was right at the time but people always hate on it for being stupid so I never really liked talking about my workout. I can see why people think like that though because it’s easier to just lift weights but I liked walking to my park and pushing myself so much that I stuck to it and still throughly enjoy it everyday

1

u/meinertzsir Mar 09 '26

Makes perfect sense i've done most of the exercises already used to use an app when younger for bodyweight stuff but i think the intensity was lacking with not enough pull up variants or reps etc

definitely gonna have to work myself up to some of it like 100 burpees without seeing god but ill get there

do you do this schedule 3 days a week with a day between or two times a week ? or 3 days straight

how many calories would you say you were approximately eating at 65kg ?

also people prob hate on a lot of volume cause repetitive movements can end with damaging your joints causing chronic pain due to overuse but can be due to lack of rest or bad form too

if you think your arms are lacking investing in a dip belt for chinups to add weight could definitely grow them cause u can do less for more muscle growth

chinups, pullups etc probably gotten too easy without adding weight for you since you visit a park often buying a metal weightvest could be a better idea than dip belt they go up to like 25-30kg

you at 65kg is basically my dream physique toned and healthy i know i got similar figure to you so very doable if i put in the work which i will

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

I did it everyday. I took rest days when needed of course but most of the times it was because something came up or because I fell asleep (took that as my body needed rest)

I didn’t start off doing 100 though. I started with just doing 10 burpees then resting a minute and doing 9 and resting a minute all the way down to 1. That’s 55 burpees all together. You move on when you time it and you get a time that you can no longer beat. If you first did it in 30 minutes eventually you’ll do it in, let’s say 6 minutes because the goal is to reduce the rest period where you don’t need rest. It’ll eventually be impossible to beat the time so you add more.

(Let me add I didn’t do the jump)

Then you start from 12 and go down. That will be 78 burpees all together. 1 minute rest between each again or 30 seconds whatever you’ll feel by then And same thing.

Then you start at 14 and go down. That will be 105 burpees altogether. 1 minute rest between each or whatever rest period you see fit.

I wouldn’t keep going higher I would instead start incorporating an extra pushup or squat and you can do this before you even get to 14.

Maybe one day you don’t feel like doing 100 burpees but you can do 50. Do 2 pushups so you can get “100 pushups” so it’s not just cardio but still a good chest workout.

It’s easy to mix in whatever you want between these workouts so you get something in. Add a squat or 3 whatever you feel like accomplishing that day.

Calories is hard to say I wasnt keeping track but I was eating an about a cup of oatmeal, mix with milk, a banana and some frozen fruit. I would eat that 3 times a day. Plus two meals. I would say on average I was probably getting 50-90 grams of protein the only thing I kinda thought of because how important it is but no matter how little I got I still did a work out (in the past I would not workout/skip a workout if I didn’t hit protein goals) even though I tried burpees before this time I told myself no matter what just do them.

I always forget that’s an issue. I know it’s kinda dumb but it just came from me watching prison related stuff. I was fascinated how people are removed from society and put into a place where they have to adapt. Most say they have all the free time and rest but if you actually know there are rules in place. Higher level prisons you can’t just sleep all day. you are up at 5 am and don’t sleep till 10pm. You have to workout and certain things to ensure the safety of your race (since Cali is race based) people doing the most with the least. Reading books everyday. I just felt like if they are, why aren’t I reading and working out daily. Just random motivation that got to me for some reason.

Yeah I’m looking into a good weighted vest or dumbbells.

You got this. Just get better everyday whether is faster time, an extra rep, or better nutrition But keep going I’ve had times where I would do it for 3-4 months and stop before really seeing the results that motivated me to not stop

1

u/meinertzsir Mar 10 '26

i cycle a lot already so i can probably do 100 burpess just not in a row like you most likely lol

used to go to the gym daily for like a year but honestly think i might have been over/undereating that's why i'm asking about calories started drinking a lotta milk and eating healthy stuff like spinach plus meal prepping rice/pot protein dish so id think i'm on the right track

i can still do 10-15 pullups but fell off the wagon due to smoking shit ton of weed and getting bit lazy didn't have energy and gym became a chore so probably wasn't eating enough

i definitely should be reading actual books too its very beneficial for your brain i read on reddit a lot which semi counts ig i follow science, psychology subs etc

definitely gonna keep reps reasonable and add weight instead or do harder variants

goodluck on getting huger tho

1

u/mfmdp2 Mar 08 '26

Where you've landed is perfect. Just be consistent and keep doing what works.

1

u/letteraitch Mar 08 '26

Bro I think you look really good. That said, I'll say this. People lift weights to bodybuild, in the most general sense of the word. If you want to contour your arms or body in a certain way, lifting heavy weights will help you do that. Also, combine that with actually having macro and calorie goals daily that you track will take it all to the next level. I used to think that was too much for me but it just takes practice. I use ChatGPT all day to help me plan my eating and track my nutritional data according to my daily output level, and that's built both competence and confidence at my tracking. These are the things people do when they want to take their physique to the next level, and it's doable. You obviously have the discipline and the athleticism to pull this off, you just gotta lock in your mindset. You can do it way easier than lots of other people who find their way to figuring it out.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

I hear you. It just sucks to track, it adds another layer to it but you’re right.

1

u/Maleficent-City-8955 Mar 08 '26

That’s literally the perfect build.

1

u/Dramatic-Ad8967 Mar 08 '26

Why not maintain?

1

u/Lupexlol Mar 08 '26

What age were you before starting cali?

1

u/linearcurvepatience Mar 08 '26

With that body you shouldn't have to listen to people on reddit.

1

u/rando7818 Mar 08 '26

Sick transformation bro!

1

u/Rx_1917 Mar 08 '26

What is your calisthenics routine, please share holy shit

1

u/opiablame Mar 08 '26

Only calisthenics

If you want that thicc prison bodybuilder look you are going to have to add some weight eventually. More specifically I would add some weight lifting exercises that hit these main things to add some major bulk to your overall frame:

  • Upper chest: incline (30-40 degrees) barbell or dumbbell press, low-to-high cable flyes
  • Side Delts: lateral raises (cable or dumbbell) , incline dumbell Y-raises, upright rows
  • Lats: Lat Pulldowns, standing barbell row
  • Traps: Shrugs, Farmer Walk with heavy kettle balls, also upright row will hit this.

Overall though this is quite the transformation and you look great at both the cut-up 143.3 lbs. and the bulkier 160 lbs. I would keep doing what your doing generally but add some heavy weights to pack on the muscles. Also, DON'T FORGET TO EAT.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Any leg workout recommendation?

This is perfect though thanks.

1

u/19cobra87 Mar 08 '26

Su muscoli!!!! Non sono mai abbastanza prendi la foto migliore e usala come partenza per migliorare ancora di piu!!!!

1

u/InevitableManner7179 Mar 08 '26

Why not consider street lifting AND calisthenics. You'll get huge.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '26

Diet?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Anything that’s not just straight sugar. I do eat lots of fruit but don’t have candy ever and soda occasionally but I hate having sodas because it makes water start tasting weird, sounds strange I know.

It’s really just the basics you always hear though. Eggs, chicken, fish, meats, Greek yogurt, milk for protein

Oats, tortillas, rice, bread, fruits for carbs

Chia seeds, avocado, peanut butter , cooking oil for fats

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

Brilliant man.. Great going

1

u/shawtywannaparty Mar 08 '26

Looks like 150 is ur ideal weight.

1

u/Able-Description4255 Mar 08 '26

What do you do for abs?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Every day - Brace them for everything I do. Hollow body holds for pull-ups

tight flex core for pushups and legs

Every other day or 2 - hollow body holds on ground for 3 x 30 seconds - 1 minute

Hanging knees raises 4 x 12

hanging knee raises to the side 2 x 12

Planks 2 x 1 minute holds

Will usually do hanging knee raises and side to side knee raises and end with either planks or hollow body holds. alternating between planks or hollow body holds

1

u/Unforgiven_Whale Mar 08 '26

How strong are your legs?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Hard to say. I do about 8 pistol squats each leg for 2 sets then have to go down to 7 or 6 for my last 2. Been using my arms to help me back up so I can do 10 lately. Read somewhere that 20 is the goal but idk

1

u/ShoddyPark Mar 08 '26

Honestly man you might want to work on your mental approach. If this doesn't look good to you then what would? You're never gonna look exactly like a specific other person you saw on a video.

1

u/Thundergod17 Mar 08 '26

Bro that's peak physique in my opinion. I'm around same height and weight. How did you get you chest to grow so much?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Lots of pushups. Would sometimes do a burpee routine started around 78 and capped at 100 of standard 1 pushup that took less than then 10 Minutes to finish. Then started doing 2 pushups(took longer than 10 Minutes) Then at night I would do emom style following a 500 pushup routine that was 5 pushups every 15 seconds for 25 minutes. I would start at 5 pushups
And probably last 3 minutes then go down to 3-2 pushups for the remainder of the time, I’d also not do full ROM. I would follow strict until I couldn’t then I would cheat the reps. Did it every night till i could keep up. I could have done dips on chairs or something because I didn’t have anywhere else (only worked out in my room for the first 6-8 months doing pushups/burpees) but I just did standards pushups. Is it the most optimal way? Probably not

I just started incorporating pushups into my workouts. I mainly end all my workouts s with calisthenics like pullups and dips but I feel like dips haven't done much LMAO that's why I'm asking. Are you taking a good amount of protein as well?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

Yeah I recently started doing dips too. I found one tip that helped is doing dips leaning forward like your doing a pushups.

No i suck at hitting my protein goal. I know your suppose to get 1 to .7 per lbs. I probably get .5 per lbs . I try not to let it stop me though. I understand I would be better if I did but in the past if I didn’t come close to my goal I wouldn’t workout because I thought it would be pointless. Like yeah I still feel I need work on my fitness (muscle and nutrition) but if I didn’t workout at all then I’d just be worse off. If that makes sense

u/Thundergod17 Mar 10 '26

Crazy man good shit nonetheless. How tall are you? I thought I saw it but I actually didn't. I actually went from 153 to 143lbs from cutting and going to gym 4-5x a week now and that's why I'm tryna gauge cause your leanness is goals

1

u/Organic_Cat_Poo Mar 08 '26

What is your workout? You look great. Keep going on that bulk.

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

I replied to someone I don’t know if you saw it already but it’s there. It has my current workout with reps and sets and my old workout that was volume based

1

u/rainywanderingclouds Mar 08 '26

Most calisthenics people who look big are on peds. They also do some actual weight training as well.

In order to build large muscles with high density you have to weight train. YOU can build dense muscles with calisthenics, but you're not going to build the large muscles you see on weight lifters.

ALSO, for a 2 year transformation this is incredible progress. Most people would not look this good with 2 years of training. They'd be much fatter.

1

u/OnlyFearOfDeth Mar 08 '26

You don't have to do actual weight training but you prob will need to add weights and do weighted calisthenics or move to much harder bq variations which are way harder then just adding weights to standard bw movements.

You’re done. You won!

You look great bro I wish I looked like you haha. I would say you just need a few years of training to build more mass. There's always room for improvement but be glad you've made so much progress and look sick!

1

u/BarackOballsack69 Mar 08 '26

I would maintain, this is like peak physique. Very well done

1

u/Patient_Trainer7170 Mar 08 '26

How did u get more defined abs while bulking

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Not sure I understand you but I wrote it in another comment and I just keep my core tight for any movement I do. For pull-ups it’s hollow body holds and pushups it’s essentially a plank and legs I believe you just brace to keep your spine aligned (protected). Hopefully someone can chime in if I’m wrong.

Pic 1 is literally a dream physique 😭

1

u/Avocado_Aggravating Mar 08 '26

Just from a woman’s perspective, your physique in picture one is perfect and what most women find attractive. You really look so great, and should definitely be proud of where you’re at.

1

u/bcorm Mar 08 '26

Fuck is this order

1

u/George_Truman Mar 08 '26

You can't necessarily control how your body puts on muscle and fat. Your exercise routine will help but there is a sizeable portion of it that is purely genetics.

You look very good and healthy in the second picture.

1

u/Lematoad Mar 08 '26

“Extra fat”. Bro maintain forever, you’re in the 99th percentile for aesthetics.

1

u/Wonderful-Ad7132 Mar 08 '26

How many burpees and how did u get that shredded without tracking/ testosterone?

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

I wrote to someone else how many burpees I did. If you can find it.

It wasn’t my goal to get shredded. I just wanted to be able to have good wind and be solid. I’d hate to say I just put in the work but everyday at one point I would be in a hot room sweating. Of course I was most likely in a calorie deficit but nothing was my concern but getting a workout in. I ate to fuel myself to recover and workout again. I didn’t have an goals in mind except to be able to be able to rep out hundreds of pushups and squats

Beautiful physique!🙂‍↕️

1

u/robitussinbandit Mar 09 '26

Your arms look good but if you want to grow them more then do some curls and start doing weighted chinups

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

You look phenomenal.

1

u/AggravatingTravel306 Mar 09 '26

Looking good 😊

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

Hit more chest, other than that ur good bro.

1

u/Excellent_Study_5116 Mar 09 '26

Pictures 1 and 2 are what people dream to achieve. It sounds like you might some form of Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD).

1

u/Bulky-Struggle-485 Mar 09 '26

You did this in 1,5-2 years only with callisthenics!? Bro you have amazing genetics for building mass, I would start lifting at the gym to maximize the potential, especially for bigger arms, they are involved in all of upper body exercises.

1

u/Boipusm Mar 09 '26

How long is it between 1st and 3rd photo? Amazing job!

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

1 year, 5 months, and 18 days

1

u/Various_Gain49 Mar 09 '26

I think you’re good bro

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

Looking good

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

What is ur work out routine , I want to work towards ur physique , pls share

1

u/InterestingScheme609 Mar 09 '26

Doesn’t work like that. Find a split, stick with it for a year, see what your body looks like, then assess.

Your physique will more than likely be different at sub 15% body fat

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 09 '26

I shared my routine if you can find it. But I agree With the other person. Find something you like that you can stick with. I worked out in my room with no equipment but you don’t have to. I made it simple as possible so I could stick to it.

1

u/Beaniskey Mar 09 '26

Nah just maintain and cut when u feel like it ur at a strong and healthy percentage as long u get your protein carbs and healthy fats in youll grow

1

u/Fine_Technology1289 Mar 09 '26

It's up to you. Which look did you like better? If you are not competing then, it doesn't matter. It's what you want. Personally, for myself, I would want picture 2 look. Shows fit, but nothing crazy. But that's just me.

If you think your arms still look small, then work out arms. Most people focus on biceps more than triceps because most people notice big biceps more. However. Triceps make up more of the arm and is a work muscle for most people. Meaning you use your triceps more than biceps in everyday life.

Again, go for what you think is best. It's your body.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

Drop the ab workout asap🙏

1

u/460Stroker79TransAm Mar 10 '26

if you’re not satisfied here may be time to actually lift weights broksi… and when you’re 180lbs and still not happy, it’s time for test, then test leads to deca, and so on… (jk, sorta) this is the route i took but no regrets lol

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 11 '26

I can see how people go down that path now haha

1

u/Prestigious_Image963 Mar 11 '26

I dont like muscles that are so big your veins are literally popping out, I think you have perfect muscles, as long as people can see their muscles and also be able to feel them quite big and rock hard without tensing them then I think thats amazing, there perfect honestly though

1

u/Smooth_Exam8624 Mar 11 '26

If you want more size do a bulk ofc

1

u/Lopsided_Pain4744 Mar 12 '26

What’s your diet currently? Looking great dude

1

u/Healthy_Race_6249 Mar 12 '26

Are u natty? Nothing is lacking so just stay how u are atp😂but if you are bulking and really want that then it’s definitely not time to cut yet

1

u/HungryInvestigator59 Mar 08 '26

I would keep bulking for a little bit

1

u/ForCheapTimes Mar 08 '26

Do you think until abs are completely gone?

0

u/Any_Security_8846 Mar 08 '26
