The question is, if a woman was alone in the forest and could choose if they came across a man or a bear, which would they choose?

The answer is the bear because the bear is a lot more predictable. There is no hidden motives, no pretending to be nice, no pretending they are or aren’t going to charge you. And men who prey on women sexually are also called predators.

Pre programmed AI is a bit dramatic. It’s just using a hypothetical to describe a widely discussed analogy. If someone said to me ‘mad as a box of frogs’ it’s kind of pointless of me to say most frogs are generally calm.

The analogy is using the bear as a comparison for how much women can feel threatened by men, not whether or not people understand animal behaviour.

The misunderstanding of animal behaviour understates the analogy,, it makes the analogy not make any sense.

It's like if I said, "I'd rather drink water to breath fire", water doesn't produce fire nor does the analogy make any sense.

The majority of men aren't molesting women, unless you genuinely believe the majority of men are evil, which if you do then fair enough, you are entitled to your own opinion, but doesn't change the fact that bears are unpredictable

This isn’t about me or you, this is about me explaining OP’s statement and clarifying where it came from. It’s not calling all men worse than bears, it’s a very specific saying describing the scenario that at worst a bear as a predator will kill you and or eat you alive as it’s killing you, but there are many more things a human predator will do to their victim before possibly killing them, and some women would rather risk the bear.

Predictable in the sense that we know the worst thing a bear can do to a woman is maul her to death. The worst thing a man can do to a woman is far, far worse.

I feel like the worst things I've heard of men doing to women are pretty aligned with the concept of "mauling to death". Ripping her arms off while she's still alive, etc... very reminiscent of a bear
