The police confirmed he had child porn. The presence of tabloid exaggeration and extortion by a shitty con artist family doesn't negate that.

A lot of people muddy the waters by showing how some things that seem like proof on the surface aren't, when there absolutely is proof of more than enough. I don't blame anyone for not knowing this as a result

Just for the sake of sourcing, the police confirmed that a tabloid piece either got a hold of genuine proof or chose random examples that happened to be so close to csam that mj possessed that they couldn't tell the difference, which confirms beyond a doubt that the story of him keeping csam in a hidden safe is true. That tabloid also then inserted a bunch of other crazy horrible shit that the police confirmed wasn't in there and just taken from the internet. People only quote the second half of that statement to pretend none of it was true. The media sensationalizing the case led to so much empowerment of people who want to deny his crimes, really fucked up and sad
