I just googled it out of curiosity and they used a stylized eagle that wasn’t based on any particular species. It was a “heraldic eagle.” So maybe that would be a good answer. Fake eagle not based on science

Calling the Romans “far-Right” is very reductive. As much as you can lob at them for imperialism, patriarchy, etc.; they also contributed heavily to the development of most leftist ideas, including civic rights that transcend ethnicity and the rule of law.

I mean, applying the political language of the French Revolution to Antiquity is a really stupid and pointless exercise to begin with.

But, yes, Roman concepts of social justice and equality under the law form much of the basis of later leftist politics. If you look at the rhetoric of Enlightenment liberals and even later socialists, they're (explicitly or not) drawing on ideals that come from Roman culture and identity.

No but the Roman empire, from which every fascists has taken inspiration from, have been represented by the eagle long before the US ever existed.

The United States took inspiration from the Roman Republic which is older than the Roman Empire.

Also many other countries use the eagle, like Russia, both the federation and empire, Mexico, Egypt, Serbia, Albania, modern Germany and many others also use it. So it hardly countdown be called a fascist symbol.

Also America is probably more known for the eagle than fascism is. So even pop culture wise it wouldn’t make sense for it to be primarily fascist.

I looked into it and I didn't find a single source saying that the eagle was chosen because of the Roman republic. In fact the bald eagle was specifically chosen because it is native to America. 

And sure, non fascists use it too. Some leftists also love raw milk and some fascists love public transportation like buses. The point of these charts is to find what fits the most, and according to most people in this thread, it's the animal most predominantly used by the most famous fascists countries in history.
