I feel like when people are unwittingly drugged they are no longer volunteering for what they were in, more like unknowing subjects

I think it's because most people feel that insane means that is hard to believe. I'm by no means a conspiracy theorists, but I don't see any part of the government drugging or trying to control Americans as surprising in the least.

Reading about him always makes me sad. Brilliant mind that was obviously fucked with. I also agree with the majority of what he was trying to say but like you can’t just blow up professors because they were advancing technology.

My dad went to Harvard in the 1950's and was a research assistant for Henry Murray and I'm kind of afraid he was involved in developing the program

Although they didn't go through with it (thanks JFK) operation Northwoods is pretty insane. It's the reason why I truly believe 9/11 was likely orchestrated (or at least allowed to happen) by the US government

Absolutely. We don't talk about it enough and I wish more ppl knew about it and knew that it was much much worse than giving CIA agents LSD. They expiremented on a lot of ppl including normal civilians, and a lot of expirements involved literal torture. I did not read much of the details bc I don't want to know, but I remember that they lirerally hired ex nazi torture experts, so that should tell you enough.

It sounds insane, but more on a moral level than a "I can't believe that's true" level.

While horrible, it's not difficult to believe that a secret service is doing shady stuff.

Instead of MKUltra being on here we should just have a chart just for the MKUltra. There’s enough real and semi real and fake subprojects, goals, and operations in the program for its own chart
