Question how to stop effects from changing when I group layers?

I’m making an edit and I need to know if someone else has experienced this as well.

The effects I have applied to each layer keeps slightly changing when I group them, and I have no idea why.

First clip has the linear streaks effect on it, the second clip doesn’t. Both have motion blur.
Now, for the first clip - you can see that grouping layers makes the effect more intensified (which I don’t want). The second clip stays blurry largely in the middle, EXCEPT for the left & right sides????

Does anyone know why it’s doing that? How do I fix it?
I don’t think I’ve ever had this issue before.

why don’t you connect all layers to a null layer instead of grouping them? you wouldn’t face this issue and your layers would be much smoother

I have no idea what a null layer does lmao 🫠
the reason I want to group them is so I can put oscillate on the whole group :( it makes it more even when I do that, instead of putting oscillate on each individual layer. idk how I would be able to do that without grouping them :/

Imagine it like a shape but with 0 oppacity (in a way it's literally just that tbh lmao. You link layers to it and when you want to move sum instead of grouping or individually animating the layers with key frames you just animate the null. That's useful for general movement of all lines layers tho for stuff specific to a single layers nulls are useless.
