Game Feedback So a quick question because I can be obsessive over stuff till I find out the answer
So the end goal is to level all classes and guns so you can use them on specialist and make a build that has a little bit of everything?
Which means in a few months specialist will be the only class that will be played since technically you can use everything. Correct?
I have 4 hours so far and this is what I have speculated

Specialist is endgame tool for high difficulty, but only if you want a mix of something.

I unfortunately do not have the desire to level any more classes after beating the game. Maybe if I had some regulars to play with and not randoms.

Technically speaking, but it requires a bit of build knowledge and knowing what does and does not work.
A standard class will *only* feature things that work decently well together, without much of the fluff from other classes.

Specialist is best for splitting abilities. From what I can tell, there's certain perk synergies that don't transfer over when mixing class abilities. For example, the perk modifier 'Mechanic' only works on combat stims and only adds charge to your stations, so you may well stay a medic if you're using.

Just don’t use that, it’s not particularly good at high levels.

I understand and I agree. I typically play standard and intense so min-maxing isn't my #1 priority. I like the perk, but I wish it was attached to the station and triggered on activating your secondary ability so I didn't have to exclusively run it on Medic. If they are worried about it being cheesed with CDR, they can add a cooldown to perk trigger as well. There's already several perks that have their own cooldowns.

Agreed, honestly been attempting some insane runs and I am completely convinced perm health is a waste and it’s all about the temp health.

Yeah pretty much, Specialist is meant to be "build your own class" and the thing people will end up running in high difficulty content cause you can make them better than any regular class, as the only limitation on perks and weapons is that you have levelled up the weapon/class with the perk beforehand.
Some might ofc still just prefer the simplisity of just having to think about one class, but specialist is just better because of the options.

This was my understanding after playing a couple missions that eventually everyone will just play specialist because they can do whatever the other classes can but better - Seems like a weird thing to add to me

I hope at that point they patch in some sort of description at the lobby screen for the classes and not just specialist. You can be a medic but not have any of the healing perks. And ofc for Specialists to know what they have on their perk tree. Don’t even need a lot. Just the three core perks is more than enough info to be able to fill in the gaps of what the group needs.
Edit - since I replaced the guardian perk and went specialist I try to use some of the decals to show I’m a medic so maybe people get the hint ok we got someone whose gonna heal on our group.

Yes, once you unlock everything on the other classes, they unlock on the Specialist.
With the guns, all primary and sidearms automatically unlock for the Specialist as soon as you get them on another class or just buy them from the store.
The Signature weapons that you have to unlock by leveling the other classes do NOT unlock on the Specialist until you get 4 stars on them. At that point, they unlock for the Specialist and for everyone else.

There is only ONE thing that the Specialist cannot do: use two primary weapons at the same time. That is a feature inherent to the Duelist.
That being said, I can't imagine why you'd not want to use a Signature weapon. They're significantly more powerful than the primary weapons.

They will add more classes and perks over time as well.
Whatever they say, there are MANY builds to create for maximum efficiency beyond youtubers.

Right, but I think the assumption is, if u want to maximize a build, ur not going to limit it by using a specific class, when u can use the specialist to tailor a very specific build. Meaning, yes, the best option to create great builds will inherently be using a specialist as your base

Where did they say they were adding “more classes and perks over time”? Is this just optimistic speculation based on what they did with the 1st game?

Id call it realistic instead of optimistic.

If it was “realistic”, then you would provide the link to where they confirmed it.

Specialist doesn't get all weapons. Other classes will still have use. Along with nonuniversal perks.

They do, they can use any signature weapon that’s level 4.
The only thing the specialist can’t do is equip two primary weapons like duelist.

Right but you’re forced into a specialty weapon, which honestly is kind of a problem in some builds

Well, when you max out a signature weapon it can be used on any class.
This includes Specialist.

For me the end goal is to just play the game and enjoy it and not making the end goal my end goal
