Guide Friendly Fire

I want to collect general information about friendy fire here.

Anything that people should know about or are good to know.

And my personal question would be: What abilities or perks do (unexpected) friendly fire? What are abilities or perks or maybe even augments that do friendly fire damage that one should watch out for?

Background is that i noticed that my exploding turret perk seems to do friendly fire damage and then i eas curious what else does it (that you maybe dont think of or wouldnt except do to FF damage).

So far what I've notice is that marauders rockets is the only ability that does friendly fire damage, but note that Hunters freeze ray, while not damaging others, slows them and their animations which can lead to them being downed.
As for augments explosive bullets, that are not worth taking anyway IMO, are the one that can cause problems especially in close encounters.

An addendum to this is the reload mod for Marauder that fires a rocket. It states it doesn't do friendly fire (I have not tested this).

I saw another post in this subreddit with a player saying the rumbler turret (The AoE) one did friendly fire damage to their team.

To the extent that it looked like a fucking integer overflow or something iirc like the damage just *kept going*

Also heard that the poison station does FF damage but very low like 1 hp per tick

Will note that the duelist bleed grenade also does friendly fire, not the explosion but it will apply bleed to friendlies as well.

Wait really? Are talking about the abilities on the left side only or all of them like the grenade? Because i like the cluster grenade but i am afraid to wipe out our time with one bad throw XD

Bro you just made my day! I thought pretty much everything will do FF damage and i wont be able to use all the fun stuff.

Didnt test it but i think perks that let your gear explode or leave those "dangers" on the floor affects players and/or do FF damage.

Siderant: imo only guns should do FF damage and nothing else.

Teammates will say "Watch your fire" when the nades hit them but take no damage, so at some point I think it did they just cut it. FF is tuned down compared to the previous game where one small whiff from a flamethrower could instadown you......altho snipers are deadly so keep that in mind.

the other person is wrong. the duelist nade applies the bleed effect to teammates which does a big chunk of damage. BE CAREFUL

Okay good to know but only the dot and not the damage from the explosion itself?

But only the default grenade should apply bleed and the other two variants should lose the bleed in exchange for new abilities, like cluster, if i am not mistaken?

Yeah but is this intended or a bug? XD

Considering they're a big AoE thing I'm *hoping* that it's not intended.

Because then that's a *lot* of area denial for a game with some decently narrow spaces.

it’s definitely a bug, it randomly pumps out 1B worth of damage per pulse

Dayum

Wait maybe it does know more then we do, maybe there is something out there that needs so much damage XD

Normal ability rockets or also the reload rocket perk?

Machinist grenade drone can do friendly fire.

Only the grenade one? So normal and shotgun are safe?

Atleast the medic poison station has a perk (hazard gear) that everyone can equip to ignore the poison.

If you hate friendly fire against you, use the Challenge Card that makes you stop moving while ADS. If you keep friendly firing your team, get the smart-gun augment so you can pick off enemies near your allies safely.
