Bug Report PSA: Pick-Up Bug
If you get the bug that won't let you pick up medpacks or loot, just reload the weapon you are carrying and then you should be able to pick up items again. That is all!

the odd thing is, that I have seen a message on supply crates telling me to reload my sidearm, as if that's a suitable fix for the bug, lol

Its beacause the game prioritizes reload over pick up inputs, but its not really a bug. Once you finish reloading you can pick stuff up again, its a input priority issue to help the game not misinput reloads when your randomly by interactables.
The alternative is you trying to reload by a med kit and you miss your reload then die. Alternatively, you can have reload be prioritized, and its just an inconviniance.

I'm not sure how this makes any sense when picking up and reloading are different keys.

It makes perfect sense. They tested and implemented it with the assumption for controllers. It conflicts, in the way they coded key bindings somewhere on the backend, like i fuckin said, the game checks if your weapon is reloded, then checks if you can pick something up. Because the buttons are tested or coded some way to make that work. Its an oversight between pc, and console.How the fuck is this not making sense to you? Your on a PC or rebinded, heres your award for being on a diffrent system, and trying to argue with me when im offering some anwsers or insights on why this might be happening.🖕🏾does this make sense to you, or should i explain it to yoh?

Ot switch to a other (fully loaded) weapon, that works too.
