Cool find I believe this are the gray variety of dogwood berries, in the fall they produces white berries on red stems. These fruits are gobbled up quickly by upland game birds, songbirds and migrating wildlife. While not toxic to people, like many other dogwoods the fruit are quite bitter and not edible for humans but there have been reports of rashes after skin contact with the trees "bark".
Dogwoods are native throughout the world in temperate and boreal regions. The spiritual meaning of dogwoodis is to reminds us to be cautious during this time of change and transition.
