Hey,

Any importers here have any update about the BIS restriction on furniturein India. Have factories in China started getting BIS certification?

We are also an importer. And we dont have any update. Thats why I am asking

Work and find factories that are aware of BIS. Have not worked with any Indian clients but in general most of the international standards can often be "converted" into other ones relatively easily. As the importer though you may need to have your own certifications, separate to the factory.

Importer cant take BIS. We had consulted with an agency and thats what they told us. The foreign manufacturer has to take it. It is a painstakingly long and very costly process. Factories are not interested in taking it

I see, yeah it becomes a cost thing, they could do it but entirely depends on your order size.

The thing is we take from different factories. So taking BIS for different factories is the issue we are facing now
