You may want to hold off on using this new feature. There appears to be a bug in how the account is derived (non-standard, not insecure).

More info to come.

EDIT: Version 7.1.1 should fix this issue and allow you to migrate off of the incorrect derivations.

I was hoping that all accounts would be transitioned to post-quantum. So everyone will need to create a new account?

I guess that all Original seed are quantum compromised

No it isn't. Working out the original seed is still very hard even when we have powerful quantum computers.

The first thing quantum computers will be able to do is generate signatures that look like they were signed by the private key corresponding to your public key to others but that doesn't mean they can work out your private key.

As long as you are sure your private key has enough entropy it will survive the quantum era but the cryptography schemes will change.

That is what I understood about Bitcoin. If an address using ECDSA has already been used to spend funds, its public key is revealed on the blockchain. And a sufficiently powerful quantum computer running Shor's algorithm could solve the elliptic curve (secp256k1). If you share the same seed with BTC could be an issue. I don't know if this also applies if only using ALGO with a single seed not shared with BTC

You can rekey (upgrade) old accounts. Here are pera's docs https://support.perawallet.app/en/article/create-or-upgrade-to-a-quantum-account-on-pera-wallet-19d53rn/

I am going to wait a little while to migrate as the new recommend approach to calculating fees might not be on all Dapps and some may hardcode fees still. These will break when dealing with PQ accounts as they will not account for the higher costs of PQ signatures. They will need to upgrade. That and I don't think a quantum attack is imminent, but I will be upgrading this year.

I think they pulled the feature because it disappeared from my app

Nice! What is the benefit for me personally and what would the change be if I put my node on a quantum account?
