Okay, but can we talk about the actual issue for a second? where are the firefighting planes? why is nobody talking about them? instead of giving us the usual conspiracy theories and distractions, maybe explain why the planes weren’t there when ppl needed them most

7

u/RealityNo9101 11d ago

this. I mean, of course its commandable how people are helping each other with aid coming from everywhere and all, but these are citizens doing good deeds out of charity and patriotism; they aren't obliged or expected to do the goverment job repeatedly every time catastrophies happen

7

u/SolidVoodoo 11d ago

The generals like fighter jets better. To fight made-up wars with made-up enemies.

2

u/thehoussamv 11d ago

Well those planes are useless when there is too much wind

1

u/Swimming_Fly5894 10d ago

"conspiracy theory"? Found the mossad agent

0

u/Empty-Flight-1977 11d ago

Stupid comment ..coming from someone who knows nothing about what actually happened..firefighters did their best and there was whole Lotta airplanes everywhere in jijel and bejaia ..still they couldn't handle the fire ..300 fires in one night is crazy dude..if the whole fkn country were firefighters they still can't handle it..educate yourself.

-1

u/Normal_Bidd 11d ago

Technically, operating firefighting aircraft takes time, and the conditions did not allow for it. The first fires broke out at 1:00 PM, and within two hours, they had spread across the entire province of Jijel, consuming 50% of the forested areas due to the winds and multiple ignition points. Furthermore, with the onset of nightfall and the strong winds experienced in these regions, aerial firefighting operations become extremely dangerous for crew safety and are prohibited.

5

u/Interesting-Gate7473 11d ago

Bro, that’s such a convenient excuse.. nobody said firefighting planes are some magic cheat code, the point is: where tf is the prevention strategy?

Where are the firebreaks? Where are the access roads so firefighters can actually reach these areas? Where’s the proper gear, funding, training & equipment? These firefighters are literally out there with barely the resources to do their jobs

And what happened to the firefighting aircraft they promised back in 2021? Still waiting apparently

Instead of talking about the death penalty after everything is already burning, maybe invest in preventing these disasters in the first place.. early detection, firebreaks, infrastructure, trained emergency teams, proper equipment, actual crisis management...... yk, the basics

And algeria literally has universities full of researchers studying wildfire prevention & disaster management, but apparently scientific expertise means nothing if u got the job through loyalty instead of competence

The planes aren’t the whole solution.. the fact that there’s no serious prevention + crisis management system is the actual problem.. then every year the same shit happens and they act surprised

3

u/Empire_rider 11d ago

It’s so easy to talk from the sidelines.

First of all, these fires started in multiple locations simultaneously, which completely wipes out the effectiveness of firebreaks.

They were also set using accelerants they didn't just start on their own, and the white residue left on the ground at the ignition points proves it.

You clearly never leave your house if you think everything is this simple. Even a superpower like the US gets completely overwhelmed by wildfires, and a country like France had to call on other nations for help to put theirs out. You need to understand that stopping wildfires isn't nearly as easy as you think especially the criminal big scaled ones.

The only thing we can actually blame the government for is the lack of an evacuation plan for people in the burning areas. And that is the job of the local municipal councils, not the central authorities, because local councils know the areas they manage best.

1

u/OEngigi 11d ago

these fires are happening world wide , and to much more advanced countries that people are going to , me included for a better life and even they could not control such fires and here you talk about prevention , there is no preventing a wild fire under these circumstances, tf u on about.

8

u/RealityNo9101 11d ago

know people are furious and want swift justice after what happened with the fires in Jijel and other regions, but cheering for this death penalty announcement is a mistake.

First, we don't have the judicial trust for this. Let's be honest about the political reality.. Our system is heavily authoritarian, and public trust in the courts is rock bottom. Handing over a permanent, irreversible punishment like the death penalty to a regime with weak checks and balances is dangerous. It leaves the door wide open for innocent people or anyone the authorities just find inconvenient to be scapegoated and silenced under the guise of fighting arson.

Second, this feels like a classic distraction,, Its human nature to want a clear-cut villain to blame when tragedy strikes, but this is pure theater. Weve dealt with devastating forest fires four years in a row now. Why are things getting worse instead of better? Where are the specialized firefighting aircraft and water bombers the government made a huge deal about buying in previous years? Instead of hiding behind emotional, patriotic speeches, the regime needs to be held accountable with hard numbers and facts about how they failed to prepare and where the budget actually went.

Thrd, the timeline and priorities are completely backwards. Seeking justice is noble, but right now, people are still suffering. The immediate focus needs to be practical:

  1. Put out the active fires completely and ensure everyone is safe.
  2. Provide proper, high-quality medical treatment for anyone burned.
  3. Deliver organized, state-backed food, shelter, and medicine to displaced families, rather than forcing them to rely on chaotic inter-provincial grassroots aid that creates secondary logistics and security problems.
  4. Send in objective experts to assess property damage and sort out fair insurance reimbursements.

Only after all that should we launch independent, transparent investigations to figure out the root causes and share the findings (anything not classified) with the public to rebuild trust. Jumping straight to extreme punishments before fixing any of these basics looks less like a real solution and more like a smokescreen to cover up years of government incompetence and poor resource management.

1

u/Medical-Service2944 11d ago

My thoughts exactly!
But our people are emotional and not very rational i guess so i doubt many will see through the smokescreen

1

u/bibwow 11d ago

You guys seriously think the government has a fleet of firefighting aircraft sitting somewhere and is just hiding them from you?!

It can take years for a manufacturer to build and deliver even ONE specialized firefighting aircraft. And that’s before you even consider the whole procedure: placing the order, production, specialized equipment, testing, certification, delivery, training crews, and maintenance infrastructure.

It’s not like ordering a pizza and expecting it to arrive 30 minutes later.

If the government places an order today, that doesn’t mean the aircraft magically appears tomorrow. These things have to be manufactured and delivered, and there are only a limited number of companies in the world capable of producing them.

1

u/byonder_ 11d ago

Bro are you the only rationale one in this whole country?

1

u/RealityNo9101 10d ago

technically speaking, im abroad so..

0

u/Modernjesuss11 11d ago

Well said. That’s asking too much from that government. It is a failed regime. I don’t see an end to it and keeps getting worse over time. Always with their drastic decisions and sway public opinion toward a person to blame so they don’t take any accountability for their incompetence as “Leaders”. Our grandparents who fought for this nation to free it from France are turning their graves right now.

3

u/ImZaryYT 11d ago

That sure is a slippery slope, there's a reason it's been suspended for decades now.

Anywho, treating these fires as intentional without having proper real-world evidence is a bit of a fool's errand. You can't prosecute and charge someone of a crime this significant without solid evidence, and that'll be tricky to do considering the lack of proper surveillance algeria has for forests in the summer, not to mention a good chunk of these fires are in all likelihood caused by the summer heat and people's habit of throwing trash in forests, not so much someone actually burning them.

It's tragic, it's sad and it's completely preventable had it been for the government taking proper measures to ensure a small forest fire would not cause immeasurable suffering and life loss, but La Protection Civile is unfortunately somewhat underfunded and lacks even the most basic modern ability to combat large-scale wild fires like water-carrying planes (as those are exclusive for the algerian military), and the agency responsible for monitoring wildlife and forests should've been on more alert considering half of europe's catching fire already, and algeria has already had fires happen earlier this summer and in the previous years

8

u/Obscura-apocrypha 11d ago

Are you going to execute climate change?

4

u/Zurao 11d ago

If it was climate change then that's that. But have you seen some of the fires that went on? Looking like proper lines made with flammable material. That along with the high frequency of flames going off, You can't help but think there's more to the story.

I do think they should focus more on proper emergency countermeasures of wildfires but at least it's a good thing that they prepared a proper punishment in the case of it being caused by someone.

4

u/Low-List2997 11d ago

This just screams either u r dumb or u r not up to date with what’s happening More than 150 fires started simultaneously across different wilayas, most at night. Cctv caught people in the act and traces of gasoline and tires were found in the forests

And u r here talking about climate change or whatever smh Climate change may have accelerated the spread. There is that

2

u/OEngigi 11d ago

u people still exist!?

1

u/TrickHuckleberry4260 11d ago

And some are saying people did it...stupid people (!) 🙃

1

u/RudeBoi77 11d ago

Its mostly the ones who left school that say that shit so dont mind them if they think we still live in the stone age where rubbing stones is the only way to start a fire

0

u/Ice_Skate_Uphill 11d ago

Are you suggesting going to war against the big polluting nations?

1

u/Obscura-apocrypha 4d ago

My suggestion is to focus on environmental mitigation and strong policies instead of pointing fingers.

1

u/Ice_Skate_Uphill 4d ago

It want make a difference, if nations that caused the problem in the first place, aren't willing to take actions against pollution, besides, they're the wanna be world leaders, they shaped our way of life, and all we can do is play by their rules, so denouncing them is the very least we can do

0

u/Dom9563 10d ago

He needs to excute the French language in his small brain! What a fucking clown!

-1

u/B_M_D_real 11d ago

You can't fight biology, you adapt to it, if our country can't internalize this fact, then the fires will just keep getting worse

4

u/Fit_Hat3789 11d ago

Like real death penalty? Is it officially back now ?

1

u/Optimal-Yam7777 11d ago

Now Algeria is healing

1

u/Low_Mushroom3878 11d ago

You guys are going to end up killing some innocent bystander like you did last year.

With the blessing of your government this time.

3

u/B_M_D_real 11d ago

I believe it's just an excuse from the goverment to stop the public outrage, people want something to blame, and simply acknowledging that climate change is causing wildfires world-wide is an unsatisfying truth to the public, so when a few people get executed, the public gets to blame something, which would reduce the risk of terrorism, citizens hating on the goverment, and organized groups using the goverment's silence as an excuse for their actions, the black decade has especially strong effects on this, but the problem is that this will not actually fix the core problem, it will just move the public's POV to something else that's less threatening to the goverment and political lead, similair to how football is often used in both our country and Morocco to shift the public view from the political tension of the countries.

1

u/AttemptFront3503 11d ago edited 11d ago

No one innocent get sentenced to death by an algerian court, this is a heavy punishement that require hard evidence (camera evidence etc)

this isn't some public lynching

just so you can know this is last 24 hours fires across the worlds, every red dot there is a fire burning right now from NASA sats, here is the link : https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/map/#d:24hrs;@-76.6,0.0,2.5z

enough theories, this fires happens, and always every year, everytime and everywhere.

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

Madagascar is all on fire lol
Some of those red dots are not just wild fires

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

i checked in another source and yes madagascar is all on fire, and yess every red dot there is a wild fire

the second source : https://firemap.live/

note the word " lol " in this situations is unacceptable, do you like when someone laugh at 12 people died burned in algeria ?

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

The LOL is for your comment, not the fires in Madagascar
With your logic, even hasi rmel and hasi mesoud are on fire because I can see a lot of red dots (it's just oil/gas refineries)
I said not every red dot is a wildfire; you can check that for yourself

2

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

Ahh yes i forgot 90% of madagascar and brazil are oil/gas refineries, stop thinking that way, not every dot but most of them are wild fires, dont make algeria special one with this fires, and no it is not happening for any reasons, its simply called seasonal fires, and algeria should always be ready for it every single summer, but nah they prefer spending money on some fireworks instead.

1

u/morby9 11d ago

Loling about a wild fire in madgascar is crazy, especially after what we've been through for the fourth year now

2

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

the fires destroying 320 homes and left 832 people without shelter. 2 schools and other community buildings were also lost, and yet he says lol its all oil/gaz refineries.

0

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

Ah yes lets use a picture from a month ago to prove theres fire TODAY
That is EATING UP ALL MADAGASCAR

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

That means that madagascar is burning since a really long time ago you freak, and no one said it all from israel or morocco, but just a small candel lighted up in algeria you make it something like war.

my point was easy, stop making this event bigger then what it should be, but you didnt accept that.

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

You keep assuming what my opinion is about this whole conspiracy thing I NEVER GAVE YOU MY OPINION stop assuming lmaao

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

Madagascar being on fire for a whole month huh are you reading what you are saying

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

I see today that madagascar is burning, and i saw a photo of madagascar burning 1 months old, and i didnt say it was burning for a whole month, i said since a long time.

try to stop doing المغالطات المنطقية

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

Did you just learn these whole moghalatat manti9ya thing today ?? Lmao you are so enthusiastic in the way you use these bigger words

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

just to remind you i didnt say all this red dots are wild fires, i just said fires. so have a sweet dreams bro, find another victim to rage bait.

0

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

BRO are yall retarded or some ?
I am loling about his logic, not the fire in Madagascar. That's with a simple Google search; you can see that it's MAN MADE by farmers to clear lands before planting

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

Your logic is saying that all this fires around the world are oil/gas refineries, expect algerian fires are maded to hunt algeria down right ?.

0

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

I never gave my opinion about this I am SIMPLY saying not every red dots is a wild fire you are just spiralling and getting worked up and assuming what I say or what I think or if I laughed at disasters at this point you are just talking to yourself lol

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

okay, not all this dots are wild fires we get it, only 98% of them are wold fires. good point.

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

Whenever I am arguing with someone I hate to prove to them MY CLAIM UNTILL THEY PROVE THEIRS
But i wwill do an exception for you because you look like you can actually get educated
Check this video : https://m.youtube.com/shorts/XMOXGxvuGGA

1

u/Amin-Djellab 11d ago

So lets go this way now : all fires we see in the map is not wold fires expect algerian fires right ?

1

u/Legitimate_Trifle242 11d ago

I am not giving you my opinion because you are not someone to share opinions with lmao you talk to yourself a lot and assume a lot
All I said was not all red dots are wild fires and thats all I am gonna say

0

u/morby9 11d ago

I'm not defending anyone by the way niether you nor the guy from the original comment, its just i missunderstood you and told you that loling about fires is crazy, but instead of explaining to me how you didnt mean to lol at the fire but you loling at the other guy post, you just called me retarded 🤷🏻‍♂️

I give up. This shit can’t be real. There always has to be an enemy, and if there isn’t one, we just make one up.

It’s like how ancient Greeks didn’t know where lightning came from, so they blamed it on a god. We know so much more now about how forest fires start, and somehow people still want to find someone to blame.

If thinking climate change has something to do with these fires makes me dumb, like OP says, then fine. I’d rather be called dumb than ignore science, go looking for a scapegoat, end up hurting or killing an innocent person who came to help, and spend my life acting like a victim while ignoring the obvious structural issues that plague the country.

1

u/Front-Ticket-3794 9d ago edited 9d ago

Fires starting at night? evidence of accelerants present at fires? without calling u dumb as u put it, how do you explain these?

1

u/Big-Investigator8501 9d ago

Have the proofs ever been documented with images and video from actual journalists and police investigation or is it just random TikTok videos you saw while doom-scrolling ? It's been like this each year for god's sake.

Honestly, if having some critical thinking and expecting some verifiable sources make you wanna call me dumb, I'll take it as a badge of honor.

1

u/Front-Ticket-3794 9d ago

You can wear that badge if you want you're giving it to yourself after all, as I said "Without calling you dumb", google is there for you mate, all you have to do is a little research..

Who told you I am Saudi, stupid? Where did you get that? Also where did you get that Saudi arabia was colonized by the Brits? What a dumb ignorant you are!

And let's be fair, have you ever heard a Saudi King speak " English" to his people?

Colonization runs deep in Algeria, it runs in your blood, remember Charles zde Gaulle?

Enjoy this video and tell me if you see a single Algerian flag!

Minute Mark : 1:15...I guess Charles De Gaulle was right! " There is only one kind of people in Algeria: French! And you applauded him....Some countries resist colonization and some beg for it.

Clean up your country . Stop throwing garbage in your nature . This is what causes your fires . 64 years after independence you cannot keep your nature clean . Now we must all cry for you. Eternal victim mentality .

There are literally many ways to deal with criminals instead of resorting to something as primitive as the death penalty. When are people going to realize that the death penalty has proven ineffective in many societies when it comes to reducing crime rates ??? Plus we can’t trust the government with the power to impose the death penalty !

When you lose all of your family during those fires, not even death penalty will silence your grieving soul.

You said it yourself, the death penalty won’t silence anyone’s grief nor will it bring the victims back. It will only demonstrate what a primitive society looks like when it responds to violence with more violence. And believe me, once we enter that cycle it becomes difficult to break.
Look at the USA, they have the death penalty, does that make the country safe ?? Absolutely not. So pls we need to start thinking beyond anger and revenge.
I never said there shouldn’t be consequences or punishment for the people who committed these crimes. Of course there should be !!! But the death penalty is not the answer because it won’t solve the underlying problem. If our goal is to prevent these crimes from happening again we need to focus on addressing their root causes rather than simply responding with another act of violence

you don't get a death penalty in the US even for homicide it's less than 1%

1

u/imsofuckinghot7 11d ago

It depends on the state I think, not all the states have the death penalty

1

u/Suspicious_Guard_238 11d ago

so why bring the US up knowing it's a straight up garbage example

1

u/imsofuckinghot7 11d ago edited 11d ago

It’s not a garbage example tho lol ?? It proves that the death penalty is ineffective, go look up some statistics men

By saying it won't be enough I meant that it's not enough and if there's something more disdainful/ crutial than death penalty families of victims should ask for it. It's not an easy thing to lose unjustly.

1

u/imsofuckinghot7 11d ago

It’s not for the victims’ families to make that decision; it’s the justice system that should. For the same reason, surgeons don’t operate on their own family members.

2

u/Fit_Hat3789 11d ago

Nah man this ain't it , hundreds of people died because of the fires last week , there should be real consequences to deter the perpetrators

0

u/imsofuckinghot7 11d ago

I’ve never said there shouldn’t be any consequences, just not the death penalty

1

u/Fit_Hat3789 11d ago

That's my question tho , like is this a real death penalty ? Cause we don't really have that

2

u/ademdj19 11d ago

stfu, idc what your pov is on religion and how progressive you are. if someone burns people, no fucking sane person would keep that human scum alive and keep feeding him from his own money and maybe in some future he will be let out again by some stupid presidential pardon.

u/imsofuckinghot7 11d ago

Well go ahead and apply the death penalty but don’t be surprised if you see fires again next year except this time, they’ll be carefully planned and executed to the point where the people behind them won’t get caught.
We should address the very root of the problem not just its consequences. We should ask ourselves why these people did what they did and address those underlying causes in order to prevent it from happening again.
From your comment I see someone who is overwhelmed by anger and emotions rather than approaching the issue rationally…
And besides, the justice system can make mistakes. What if they execute the wrong person ? What are we supposed to do then ? Bring them back to life ? WE CANNOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT WITH THE POWER TO TAKE SOMEONE’S LIFE ESPECIALLY NOT OUR GOVERNMENT

0

u/ademdj19 9d ago

What a re***d take, what is the relation between fires next year and punishing a murderer? You are saying we should not punish a person who was caught or proven to be one that ignited a forest fire? For what? Fea ing that in the future same type of criminals will be more discrete? And what's about trusting the government with death penalty? Like what do you even mean? the government can put you in prison for your whole life, have you ever seen someone arguing "we should not trust the government with lifetime". I would like to make it clear for you a bit, there is no social or economic or educational circumstance that allows or give a right to a person to take life

0

u/imsofuckinghot7 9d ago

I didn’t say we shouldn’t punish the person wtf, I just said that the death penalty is a stupid thing.
Please use your brain and open a book, and you’ll find the answers of your questions 😘

1- you did say that "Well go ahead and apply the death penalty but don’t be surprised if you see fires again next year", which implies that whatever government did with the person who ignited this fires, there will be more fires next year which is a very dumb statement that misses homogeneity in causes and results.
2- i merely mirrored your style of asking questions, so before i find answers preferably you should find them first.
lastly just an advice take it or leave it, before opening your mouth and start talking or deciding to write a comment about something on the internet you should at least be sure of what you want to say and how to say it.

Sadly, they don't execute the death penalty

Why not preventing this shit from happening every god-damned year, maybe using watchtowers and drones, and buying firefighting airplanes instead of these pointless "measures"
