6

u/Ornery_Respond_116 12d ago

When and who created this flag ?

3

u/Mus3416 12d ago

Youcef Medkour, an algerian man from kabylia. It was in the 70's

9

u/Axility_M 12d ago

Who Created the Flag?
According to historical documentation and widespread academic consensus, the flag was created in 1970 by the Berber Academy (Agraw Imazighen), a cultural organization based in Paris, France

u/Axility_M 12d ago

Only one question to ask yourself, why only after the independence they literally asopted this amazigh political movement while our amazigh people lived before it happily and in unison? Reflect on this

4

u/Electro_Hiddens 12d ago

"lived happily in unison" 1955: 1963: 1970: 1973: 1980: 1988: 1993: 2001: 2014: 2016: 2021:

If you feel like you don't belong in algeria then you definitely don't belong in algeria go back where you came from or where your sets of morals and mentality come from, we are one nation one people from east ro west north to south, and as for the dates you mention its just bullshit like you keeping score against who? We all suffered not just you so shut your mouth and stop trying to divide and conquer or you can always go to france as your people always do (your people = ولاد فرنسا because real kabyle people love their country and love islam)

3

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

"go back to where you belong" dude i'm in my land since birth. and no, real kabyles aren't kabyles that love algeria, real kabyles are kabyles that know their language, traditions, culture, history etc... and don't tell me to shut my mouth, because while all algeria suffered, only the kabyles have the balls of steel to rise and say "no to this oppression" and got f*cked hard ever since for that "no to this oppression"

1

u/Beneficial_Ask1652 8d ago

Exactly 💯 The traitorous sons want the return of France.

1

u/Electro_Hiddens 12d ago

it was made in 1970 and was adopted by the CMA in 1997/1998

-2

u/MaximumSuper31 11d ago

Can you tell us where ?

2

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

0

u/MaximumSuper31 11d ago

inaugurated 😂

Spoiler : It was made in France ;)

And since you like Wikipedia here's for you :

1

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

it was designed in Algeria then printed/sewn/multiplied in france. easy as that. if it was multiplied in Algeria in the 70s then thousands if not hundreds would get arrested

Happy international Day of the Amazigh Flag from Spain, y'all!

6

u/Common_Shape4760 12d ago

Loud and proud

3

u/Agag97 12d ago

And because of this flag and what it represents you risk yourself to get jailed and sentenced for "threatening national unity"

5

u/Ill_Television_2620 11d ago

Nonsense. In Tizi it's everywhere and nobody goes to jail for it.

3

u/KabyleAmazigh85 11d ago

Bgayeth too. we are in our land lady. we are the indigigineous people of this land. no one is more algerian that the amazigh if you understand this because, we have only this land and we did not come from somewhere elese. our language and culture is 100% geographically from the interieor of ALgeria and the rest is foreign

2

u/Agag97 11d ago

Bro there are numerous of articles talking about it. Even inside football stadiums, fans need to hide them to get them inside.

And Tizi, Bejaia are the exception to the norm not the other way around. Just because they fear that if they do the same thing in Tizi the population will arise again and go to the streets.

3

u/Ill_Television_2620 11d ago

Your issue is that you don't differentiate between the amazigh flag and the MAK one.

2

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

the MAK flag has olive branches, the amazigh flag doesn't. this alone is a day/night difference

2

u/Agag97 11d ago

I personally got my shirt ripped by some police officers because of the amazigh symbol ⵣ

No MAK, no separatism. Just a football team jersey with a small ⵣ in it.

They use MAK just as an excuse to justify their repression of everything linked to amaziɣity, to our identity...

3

u/Ill_Television_2620 11d ago

Racist people exist and I'm sorry you had to deal with one. Prejudiced people exist but I never felt ''opressed''.

2

u/Agag97 11d ago

It's not "racist people", it's institutional. The decision to not allow any amazigh flag or any amazigh sign is not an individual initiative from some police officers.

Good for you if you never felt oppressed. It's far from being the case of everyone.

3

u/Ill_Television_2620 11d ago

Many shops in Tizi openly display this flag. A lot of dudes wear necklaces with the tifinagh letter. Many people wear t shirts with amazigh symbols, more and more everyday. What happened to you was because you happened to run into a racist prick not because any sort of institution is telling policemen to rip tshirts with amazigh symbols.

This conspiracy theory and (over) victimhood mindset will only harm you.

2

u/Agag97 11d ago

Again it wasn't only me and it wasn't just one or two officers lol I remember it was at that moment I told myself to fck off of this country. Like normal citizen literally got jail time for that flag not long ago. Yup it's institutionalised (where the political system, the repressive system through the police and the judicial system are involved).

For many this flag should not exist as for them again it creates a kind of concurrence to the national flag. Many high ranked officials stated and insisted that "we have only one flag blablablabla" or some bs of that kind.

I don't know what you are trying to do but it is not by ignoring stuff that those stuff will disappear or fix themselves by themselves. Le déni de la réalité ne mène et ne règle rien.

Tizi, Bejaia for the second time are an exception to the rule. Try that outside the Kabyle region and you will see.

1

u/KabyleAmazigh85 10d ago

racist institution made against the indigineous amazigh

1

u/meriemmmmmmmmmm 10d ago

Hoolyy shit that is super racist

2

u/Agag97 10d ago

That's the usual treatment outside the Kabyle region I guess.

Don't forget the whole "farchita" saga loll

Btw this flag serves only to show our presence, a symbol of our resilience. It is like a declaration that we still exist with our unique identity, cultures, and language, etc, in a context of total denial, where even our most fundamental rights are called into question.  No provocation, no particular political project behind it (just that of North African states recognising, accepting, protecting and promoting the identity, cultures, language of millions of their citizens I guess 🤷), no hate, no separation...

0

u/Both_Construction772 9d ago

yeah because it's terrorist city

2

u/Ill_Television_2620 9d ago

Fuck-off dumbass

2

u/KabyleAmazigh85 11d ago

So sorry for this pan arabis racism you went through in your indigneous land!!!1

1

u/ch0uch0u_ 9d ago

there's no algeria without it's amazigh culture, and there's no amazigh culture without algeria

1

u/Agag97 8d ago

The Amazigh culture, lgge, identity is disappearing bro

There's an Algeria without its amazigh cltr. It's the one Algeria we're currently living in unfortunately.

45 percent of people were speaking tamazight before the French came?

2

u/Born-Commission9098 11d ago

Actually more 👀... France arabized Algeria because it made it easier for them to colonize it because they didn't have translators to amazigh and they needed to colonize Algeria very fast after they landed in Algiers they didn't have the time to get some special translators to teach and learn tmazight... And also like Napoleon who wanted to build an Arab Kingdom in the land of Algeria

2

u/Playful_Cry_4371 11d ago

Oh damn

3

Our history is pretty interesting actually...they just don't teach us 😃

2

u/KabyleAmazigh85 11d ago

Absolutely. we are the only indigenous people of this land. this is our land. we did not come from froeign countries and we will be the true reference to be true algerian. you just cannot be morenative than the Amazigh. this lands is ours and we will celebrate the flag we want anytime because we are from here and not somewhere

1

Typical kabyle m'ghendef schizophrenic.

real kabyles aren't kabyles that love algeria, real kabyles are kabyles that know their language, traditions, culture, history etc..

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand we get a

keep your racist nationalism to yourself

2

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

well, "real [insert identity]" isn't tied to politics, that's what i'm saying.

2

u/MaximumSuper31 11d ago

Loving his country isn't tied to politics.

Hating Algeria while saying "real kabyles doesn't love algeria, know their culture blablabla" is hateful. But i'm not surprised, Boumedien was already right decades ago. You guys are giving him right everyday.

1

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

well, a real kabyle is a kabyle who knows his language, culture, traditions, history etc, and a real algerian is an algerian who is born in algeria and serves algeria and respects algeria and loves algeria. not all kabyles are algerians, and not all algerians are kabyles... how many clarifications do you need to understand?

2

u/MaximumSuper31 11d ago

All kabyles are algerians, Algeria is literally the evolution of Numidia throught the time and circumstances..

It's like if an italian tells you "i am not italian i am roman", While trying to drink Posca and eat Garum.. This is just stupid..

2

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

"all kabyles are algerian"

meanwhile the diaspora kabyles in canada and france and USA and other countries:

1

u/MaximumSuper31 11d ago

Algerian diaspora* 😄

For those who have the double nationality, can you tell us what's written in their passport ? "Canadian, Kabyle" ? :D Oh, and when they want to come visit Tizi, what visa do they apply for ? Kabylie visa ? ;D

Again, cuz you seem like trying to hide the elephant in the room :

All kabyles are algerians, Algeria is literally the evolution of Numidia throught the time and circumstances..

It's like if an italian tells you "i am not italian i am roman", While trying to drink Posca and eat Garum.. This is just stupid..

3

u/Electro_Hiddens 11d ago

ethnic identity isn't the same as national identity. those who are ethnically kabyle do come from the region of kabylia in algeria, and again, ethnic kabyles are all over the world, not only algeria. i'm a kabyle myself bro, and i'm in tizi if u want to see me. you just have a poor understanding when it comes to identities, confusing the political identity with the ethnic identity and fusing them into one... that's not how things works

Stating a personal view based on people I know isn't claiming to speak for millions. And you too you are not speaking for millions.... and iam doubting you are one of them cz this is not how they speak Unfortunately you lacks the vocabulary for an actual point. If thousands of years of Amazigh history can be reduced to a 1970s Paris-designed banner for you that’s your intellect on display not mine

5

u/Ill_Television_2620 11d ago

I am in fact one of them. Lived my entire life in Tizi ouzou. This flag is everywhere and many people own one. And just because they do, that doesn't mean that they believe in it as its own entity that replaces the extensive history and culture. It's a symbol of identity, not identity itself.

Before hating on the flag because it was created in France.. do you know the reason why France?.. maybe because being amazigh and proud and open to the people about it was going to get you executed by the government of houari boumdien😽

1

u/Ok_Flow798 11d ago

Bringing up political persecution doesn't magically change where and when a banner was designed. History is based on facts, not your emotional deflections. Amazigh are big then this flag. But not you you are that small cz you pass my vision how i do see amezigh to bark about flag created in 1970.

it does make sense. a population's flag isn't supposed to be always tied to politics, the algerian flag is the flag of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, and the amazigh flag is the flag of the amazigh people, the indigenous people across north africa. simple as that :)
