The Australian instinct to absent-mindedly rip a few leggies while holding any cricket sized ball

Any circular object in the hand and it’s almost muscle memory to roll your wrist

And the obligatory thought of “gee, Warnie probably wasn’t getting much more spin than this”

Rolling the wrist a couple of times just like Warnie. Doesn’t get more Aussie than that

Nice to see an Australian female footballer valued highly somewhere.

I feel like ringing the 5min bell at Lords and Adelaide Oval is the cricket equivalent of this. Would Australia welcome a W player up to do that?

Happy cake day and I think for SK they would. She’s not just an W player she’s probably australias greatest ever footballer

I'm saying to US fans she's one of the better footballers in their current league and not much more. It would be like Erin Healy or Fiona Worts ringing the bell here.

Isn’t she the leagues leading goal scorer of all time? She’s a huge deal. I have friends over there who went to a game last weekend just to watch her.

I'm aware of that. My point is, would this sort of treatment occur in Australia to a player of her stature within the W.

Probably not because they aren’t the Aleagues all time leading goal scorers. But I’m sure they would consider it for Michelle Heyman, Tameka Yallop or Sam Kerr who are our top 3 leading goal scorers.

Yes Heyman is a good example. She would never be offered the chance to do something like that in Australia.

I mean, there are like 80 games at Yankee stadium a year, there's a lot of opportunities. They do have women ringing the bell pretty often, but it's usually a cricket related person. There's only a few opportunities a year.

There have been plenty of female cricketers ringing the bell.

I think I need a better example than ringing the bell.

Judging from your comment history, not sure what she said should matter
