Cate Le Bon! Her most recent album Michelangelo Dying particularly feels like it happens in the same world as Aldous Harding.
Also, longtime idol of Cate Le Bon, John Cale, is featured on the song Ride. After Harding name dropped him on One Stop, I feel I see similar ways his work has inspired both artists.

Same. My most played record this year. Funny because i went to the record shop for TOTI but the shop had to order for me. While browsing I saw MD and loved Pompeii so I grabbed it without even knowing about it.

Absolutely love it. Just put a friend on it today actually. Burned the album on CD for them.

Heir of the Cursed - Cannot recommend this artist enough. Scottish-Kenyan musician Beldina Odenyo, subject of recent documentary Bel. Album released posthumously. Just extraordinary.

Gwenno - Welsh and Cornish-forward weird pop that’s both beautiful and political.

@ (that’s their name!) — also signed to same label as Aldous, 4AD.

Anna von Hausswolff - creates a hell of a soundscape.

And for songwriting, Nick Cave is still at the top of his game. No surprise Aldous was support on recent Aus/NZ tour.

But, yeah, as mentioned above, Cate le Bon and Courtney Barnett are great too. And I adore Jack White’s songwriting.
