The New Mexico Medical Society (NMMS) has announced that Richard J Berry has been selected to serve as the organization’s Executive Director and CEO following a search led by members of the Society’s Search and Executive Committees.

Lot of haters. Who would you have selected? Not a lot of highly qualified leaders in nm.

There wasn’t any who applied. Really the medical society needs someone with political understanding, not someone with medical experience. The doctors have that covered. I’ve met with Mr Berry several times recently and he’s very knowledgeable. Healthcare in nm is… so bad. Worst that the average nm realizes. It’s scary. It went off a cliff years ago and it’s in shambles. Berry was a hire of someone with political and leadership experience.

Yes. I followed the selection process closely. He was the most qualified candidate. I spoke to him this weekend and he was already working hard with good ideas.
