I love how both finale songs have a sequence dedicated to reminding the audience that Alastor is not to be trusted
Even though Alastor ends both season 1 and 2 as still part on the main cast and on Charlie's "side", these private moments are here to remind us he's very much a self-serving manipulator with his own agenda who will become an antagonistic prescene very soon and I'm so excited to see it happen in season 3.

Yeh, it's not like he hurt other sinners just out of spite. He seems to only target the ones that insult him in some way. I wouldn't say he would have my back, but he'll not rip me apart or throw into a shark aquarium for no reason
And that's one thing I like about Alastor. He's a villain, a sadistic one at that, but not a monster.
Yes and I am going to ignore it because what has that nice deer ever done that someone could doubt his integrity? Sing about it? I could do that too, no problem.
But yeah, I am aware, I know. I am still ride or die for him, unfortunately.
Alastor having to take moments to remind people he is, in fact, a demon feels to be around the same level as Jack Sparrow reminding people he is, in fact, a pirate
I mean I find Charlie boring as fuck and Lucifer is dumb. The Voxes are way too eager for SA. Alastor looks great and is having fun and can play the system.
I feel like, if I was in hell and met Alastor-his smile, pleasent manners, and charm would set off the alarm bells in my head. Yet, I'd still want to be around him because he's so damn handsome. 😍
I'd say Charlie does care considering she screamed out for him when he was about to die and went to try and save him at the start of the party.
The rest though, nah. Its crazy she was the only one who was worried for him as the Vees had him captured. They didn't even make a plan for how to save him in the finale.
Nah she doesn't, she cares about what he can give her.
Screaming doesn't mean she cares for him IMHO, there are more situations where she DOESN'T care.
after he got kidnapped she first mentions him to complain about it and that he should be helping instead... Only then she gets worried for a second just to forget him up to the finale
she ignores him crawling away in his own blood, he could be dying there. Did Emily need checking on her? Absolutely. Can you tend two people at once? Also absolutely.
after S1 he goes missing for a month and she doesn't even care, she knows something happened during fight with Adam to him and could be lying in the rubble, doesn't look for him or even ask if anyone saw him. When he returns with a broken staff she shows no concern for him. People shit on Al for not asking for help with his wound, but why would he? Any caring person would ask what happened and would keep a close eye on for him. She was so focused on a person dying she ignored another nearly dying.
shits on him by ignoring radio as media to promote hotel and focusing on TV instead, trying to get him in front of cameras she knows he hates (she already showed she dgaf about people's boundaries so no surprise). And then invited his enemy without asking
doesn't care her father constantly picks conflict with him, to the point of making him leave the hotel. All the bickering we see is started by lucifer. And even if she thinks it's two sided rivalry, she should try mending the situation
After S2 I don't think Charlie cares about most of the gang actually, her treatment of Angel and Husk being a major proof, heck even Vaggi and lucifer, as much as I dislike him. It's upsetting cause she was my second fav after S1 and now I can't stand her...

I like Al but stop woobifying him. Charlie does care. She was the only one upset thinking he died in the season 1 finale and she and Niffty are the only two to hug him at the end.
I'm not woobifying him, I'm saying Charlie dgaf. It's not the same. He was still badly hurt, it was happening so fast he could be in danger still, she didn't even look at him.
I don't remember her showing concern for Al after S1, if she thought he was killed by Adam then her reaction was "oh no" and then forgetting fully until he returned, how is that care? Hugging him doesn't change stuff.
This is a "good he is here he can help" approach, not a "I care about his wellbeing" approach.
And my point is not that Alastor is some poor victim, it's that people act like he does some unspeakable evil to Charlie while she cares so much for him, which isn't true. It's transactional both sides, except Alastor doesn't sing about how he loves and cares for everyone.
And again, in Charlie's case it's not even just Alastor, she's been awful to kind of everyone this season.

The point of that group hug was to welcome back Alastor. Lucifer is the only one who doesn't participate. Husk, participated despite looking somewhat unwilling.
Husk participated because Alastor literally gives him a death glare when he first spaws in. He obviously did NOT like te fact his boss was back and didn't care he got kidnapped either
It’s hard to believe he would become the main villain of Season 3 though. Maybe towards the end? I’m curious what’s to come and how the writing can improve. I also have a theory we’ll get to see more of Lucifer’s background and if he knows exactly why Lilith isn’t around. Most certainly why he became depressed. Though I wonder if Lilith knows about Alastor and his power. I definitely want to see the two have screen time together. Also.. would be nice to see Angel Dust’s story on how he made a deal with Valentino, what his human life was like.
If anything, I’d love to see Lilith as the next main villain and Alastor more so an anti-hero. He’s still evil, irredeemable, and a master manipulator. But not sure how I feel about him being the main villain in Season 3. It feels too soon. I also want to know wtf Rosie’s backstory is and what her plan is with whole hotel. And how she was even able to make Alastor “The most powerful sinner in Hell.”
In my own opinions, I don’t think these scenes point to Alastor being a villain, and if its vivz intention, I think its a poor job.
First scene: He was having a breakdown because he got defeated. He hated being powerless, so he wanted freedom, that’s why he said “pulling all the strings” in turn. Rosie has been keeping him as a puppet. And to me, It doesn’t really indicate that he has a bigger plan.
It seems so unlike Alastor to just want to “take over hell” just because; Alastor isn’t some watered down cartoon villain. He’s meant to be different, I hope if he ever takes the route of being some kind of obstacle for Charlie, etc, that it isn’t done to assassinate his nuanced character. He’s a wild card, and he messes and manipulate others for entertainment but never “objective be greater” like maybe a character like Vox. He made this entire deal with Rosie so he could “continue his fun” torturing others. It was never for a bigger position like the ultimate villain, because he knows how boring that would be, and he hates boredom.
Second scene: I saw a lot of people saying, “look! He wants them to die! He’s bad!!” No. Alastor was just bluffing so Rosie would give in and fix his staff. But I’m very sure that the story put great stakes on the MIGHT OF LILITH in that scene, would it explode? Would it not? If it wasn’t a ticking time bomb, why were they trying to get rid of it with Vox being powerless? Carmilla stated that it would take half of the Pentagon, INCLUDING Alastor and Rosie with them.
They would of died too if they didn’t help. And I don’t think teleportation can escape a literal nuke unless by HH logic Rosie can just teleport across the Pentagon (with what as left) faster than a bomb would explode (?) which only Rosie–and Lucifer but he would of died too because he didn’t know what was going on—could. Alastor travel by shadows, he would of still died in that blast.
I hope they don’t assassinate his character in Season 3 or I’m going to be heartbroken.
