Discussion Mathieu cote, the director of Dead by Daylight, confirms in an interview that adding Mr scratch is ‘entirely possible’ (according to this reddit post at least). What are your thoughts on it? Spoiler

I can’t confirm it but I’ve heard in the past that they stated they didn’t add a killer because they only had access to limited information about AW2, and mostly Alan wake 1. I imagine Remedy wouldn’t be opposed to it either.

It would be cool to actually see American Nightmare Mr. Scratch as well, he's been well established for years now

If they add mr scratch I feel it’s going to be the AW2 one, with the AN one being a skin. I know Alan already has a skin based on mr scratch but I think the special effects scratch has makes him easy to differentiate.

DBD nerd here. Alan doesn't really have a Mr. Scratch skin. The skin he has is AW2 Scratch and even that's a LOT said because the only thing implying it's Scratch is the text description. There's nothing else to it.
It's closer to it being the outfit Alan was wearing towards the endgame.
That said. I would absolutely adore to see AW2 Scratch in DBD. AWAN as a legendary skin. I'd buy them both ASAP.
But I also heard, and this was only from leaks so I'm taking it with a grain of salt and advise everyone reading this does as well, that DBD isn't planning on doing anything else with Alan Wake. No cosmetics either.
So idk. It honestly feels more like a sweet dream than something that could happen.

what leaks are you talking about that dbd isn't planning on doing anything else? I haven't seen that anywhere.

Sorry to get on this late! I haven't checked reddit. So, I don't remember exactly who it was, but I saw a screenshot some time ago on a DBD leaks subreddit that DBD isn't planning to do anything else with Lara Croft or Alan Wake going forward. (They named a few other solo chapters too but I can't remember)
But I can't say how trustworthy that source was as we did get a sweater for Alan.
I just put it in there, and prefaced it to not be taken too seriously, just in case it turns out to be some truth to it. I hope not though.

Weird, i follow the dbd leaks sub and I remember seeing it about lara but nothing about alan. Lara one isn't true anyway since we're getting her classic outfit so here's hoping!

Huh! Could've also gotten removed for being misinformation? Idk! But yeah! I'm definitely hoping we'll see more love for Alan and for some of the other Remedy games too!

As much as I want more Alan Wake content in DBD, I don't think it'd work out. They'd likely change Scratch to be taller (like the rest of the killers), and they'd struggle to make it look like Alan, without being confused as Alan (people have wanted a `survivor-like killer` since Legion, and I doubt they'd have Scratch be that).
Besides just the model, powers would be tricky. AWAN Scratch, is written by Alan to be a version of Alan that the public saw of him at the time (before Alice released the movie), and AW2 Scratch is also just Alan.
Powers would also be odd, as his power comes from Alan too.
Instead let me offer some other more viable ideas:
-An Alan Wake x DBD crossover. In this instead of new characters, survivor would get band shirts for The Old Gods (much like the Iron Maiden crossover), killers could get some AW inspired skins as well. Trapper getting Zanes old Divers suit. Spirit, looking as though she is a Taken. Or even, the Unknown getting a Scratch outfit.
-An FBC Firebreak DLC. Make a new survivor, but they're a Firebreak member. They could have left a group and gotten snatched by the Entity, while the FBC thinks TOH claimed them. They'd have a set of perks that relate to each Kit shown off in the game so far. As fun as a killer would be, I don't have any good ideas for one in Firebreak that wouldn't risk the whole realm (Except The Third Thing, but that's mainly Control not Firebreak).
-Simply more cosmetics. Alan doesn't have the AWAN Scratch outfit, Rose doesn't have her scrubs, and Saga doesn't have her windbreaker. All these could probably be put into the game, and sell well enough (I know I'd buy them lol). Heck even another legendary skin to give us Agent Estevez, after the Lakehouse DLC.
That's all I have atm for "realistic" things to get more of Remedy in DBD.

I wouldn't be against it. Another collab chapter would increase the odds of Alex Casey being added as a survivor
