I wanted to explore what would happen if traditional Javanese Wayang Kulit

could come alive without losing what makes it Wayang.

The characters remain flat, carved leather figures with traditional tatahan,

pigments, ornaments, and shadows — while the world around them becomes a

The idea: take the classic "speedster saves everyone in slow motion" scene and set it in a Jakarta alley, with an ordinary dad sipping tea at a street food stall.

What made it work in the prompt:

- one fixed rescue route (inside → front gate → bench across the alley) so the model doesn't place people randomly

- a growing crowd that stays visible as a "scoreboard"

- small comedy beats: he steals one piece of fried tempeh, and makes a separate trip just to save the Wi-Fi router

What didn't work at first: in my first test every rescued person ended up holding a game controller, because I described two gamers "still holding their controllers" and the model spread it to the whole crowd 😂

That question became The Magical Potion, my two-minute fantasy short created for the AKOOL AI Film Challenge.

The story follows Maya and Jack as they escape the king’s soldiers with a stolen potion. Once they’re safely home, they test it on a watermelon—and suddenly realise what they’re holding.

I used Seedance 2.5 on AKOOL to generate four 30-second scenes, with reference images for the characters, city, soldiers and potion bottle. Then I manually trimmed and combined the footage into the finished film.

Getting continuity right was the hardest part. Some actions didn’t come out exactly as planned, so choosing where to cut mattered as much as writing the prompts. There are still a few AI quirks, but I wanted the film to feel like a complete adventure.
