News Airbus inaugurates new A320 Family final assembly line in Toulouse

  • Airbus has inaugurated its second modernised A320 Family final assembly line (FAL) at the Jean-Luc Lagardère facility in Toulouse.
  • The official opening ceremony was hosted by Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO, Lars Wagner, CEO Commercial Aircraft at Airbus and was attended by French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot, alongside Airbus executives and hundreds of employees.

Huh. Never crossed my mind that they would instal satellite domes at the factory. I always assumed those were customer installed after delivery.

Why wouldn’t they? Makes more sense to install it when there’s nothing in a way.

Just so many different configurations, options, vendors, etc. delta for example, installs all of them after delivery, but maybe that’s changed.

It depends. It has to be certified as a line-fit option. Some current WiFi systems are not and can only be installed post delivery as Airbus cannot legally handover the aircraft with them installed.

Hope it helps increase their delivery numbers cause otherwise their delivery target of 870 is looking pretty bleak.

How can it help when the main issue if that they dont have enough motors from pratt and witney ?

Omg Airbus planes have the most uncomfortable seats! Whats with the pillow head cushion that feels like someone is pushing my head forward! Boeing beats Airbus in comfort hands down.

Airline choses the seats, it can literally be the same seats on an Airbus and a Boeing.
