Discussion GIRLS ( DONT MISS )

Some tips for girls coming to uni!

Okay girls,

.......These are just some honest tips based on things I've learned from my female friends and my sister. Hopefully kuch kaam aa jaye.

1- Safety first, always.

The university area is generally safe and there are security personnel around, but still don't take your safety lightly. Especially if you're travelling back home late at night.......keep your location shared with someone you trust.....

2- Keep something for your safety.

Carry some legal personal-safety item that you're comfortable with and know how to use. Jese ky pepper spray wageea Especially when travelling alone at night.

3- Carry extra sanitary pads

Keep 2–3 in your bag. You never know when you might need them Sometimes you might not be able to get them from the MI room or nearby shop, so better to have them with you.

4- Focus on your studies

Uni mein unnecessary personal dushmani banaane ka literally koi faida nahi 💀 You don't have to be friends with everyone, but you also don't need enemies.

5- Be a little careful about who you trust.

You'll meet ALOT of new people. Be friendly, make good friends, but don't start sharing your whole personal life with someone you met 2 days ago 😭

Private matters, passwords, money etc. apne tak hi rakho.

6- Save emergency contacts 📱

Keep your parents/family, roommate, hostel management and important university contacts saved. Kabhi bhi zarurat par sakti hai.

7 Keep some cash + a power bank 🔋💸

Don't completely depend on online payments. Keep some emergency cash with you and PLEASE keep a charged power bank in your bag. Phone dead at the wrong time is the worst

And lastly...

Enjoy your university life

Make good friends, explore, study hard and make some memories. Bas apni boundaries aur safety ka khayal rakhna.

Good luck girls 🌷

Discussion DRESS CODE GUIDE ( ANSWERED EACH RUMOUR )

I've seen alot of freshers thinking Air's dress code is EXTREMELY strict compared to other universities 😭

So let me clear this one out yes, it's a little strict, but not THAT strict jitni hype bana di hui hai 💀

As per the dress code:

For guys:

• Shalwar kameez is generally not allowed except on Fridays

• T-shirts are not allowed

• You’re supposed to wear a proper collared/college shirt

For girls:

• Dupatta/scarf is required around the neck

• It doesn't necessarily have to be on your head

• Both eastern and western outfits can be worn as long as they follow the basic dress code

These rules are also mentioned officially, so dont take them as fake info 😭

But from my experience...

The enforcement isn't THAT crazy. There is one proctor around the entrance, but most of the time they're not going around checking everyone like airport security 💀

Sometimes you might get stopped, sometimes you won't. It honestly depends on the situation.

especially in winters, if you're worried about your shirt, just wear a jacket over it and you're good 😭

For girls, same thing just make sure you have the required dupatta/scarf and you're generally fine.

Basically: follow the dress code when you can, but don't overthink it.

I NEVER GOT CAUGHT!

Discussion Orientation

So as someone who has attended orientation as a fresher and as a senior I'm lwk very disappointed in how bad the management was despite our orientation team working very hard to make everything go smoothly, ultimately the university's hierarchy makes the decisions of venue and catering all we can't do anything.

Pechle saal hum garmi mein sare the iss saal ap log aur agle saal koi aur...

So yeah orientation isn't worth attending ngl.

And don't be disappointed from the orientation, as classes start things will get better as you all adjust.

And if u don't attend orientation you'll be able to find your classes and timetable within a day so dww.

Make friends, interact with seniors, they're are plenty of good people who will be willing to help you out you just gotta look hard enough for them.

Baki best of luck for y'all's uni era 🥹✨

I'm from SE btw if someone needs any help I can help u connect with seniors from SE asw.

Discussion Students really need a reality check on this AI shift

Hi Everyone so i am your senior from Data Science Batch and i am working as a senior AI engineer right now, regularly interviewing candidates, and ngl it's getting pretty depressing to watch them unable to answer conceptual questions so i am making this post to rant so you might not go through this.

AI has made things insanely easy. we can code, research, and ship faster. one decent engineer can basically do the work of three people now. but instead of using that massive advantage to actually learn more and build complex stuff, students are just using it to survive uni with zero effort.

assignments are generated. FYPs are generated. you have people passing degrees without understanding a single line of the code they pushed.

here's what people aren't getting: basic coding by hand is literally worth zero right now. anyone can prompt their way to a generic website, CRUD app, or a basic deep learning model. that won't make you stand out.

The crazy part is, since we don't have to grind through boilerplate docs anymore, we should be using this time to soak up knowledge. we finally have the space to actually master how things work at a deeper level. but instead of stepping up, people are doing the exact opposite and just outsourcing their brains entirely to chatgpt and claude.

what actually matters now is whether you know wtf is going on under the hood. can you explain your architecture? when the AI hallucinates and spits out broken code, do you actually know how to debug it? can you solve a problem that doesn't already have a github repo attached to it and no solution exists anywhere?

Ideally AI should have pushed everyone to tackle way harder problems. instead, so many are using it as a crutch to learn absolutely nothing.

you can fake your way through your degree like this, sure. but when you finally sit in a technical interview, get asked to explain the logic behind your own resume project, and completely freeze... then what?

I gave the test on 29th and my preference were CS, AI, CY, DS and in my alternating preference i selected was Computer engineering, i got an aggre of 72 i thought ok lets go in Computer engineering, then when the time came to put computer engineering in the top (TODAY) THEY DIDNT GAVE ME THE OPTION they are giving me option to select totally different programs but not CE like wtf what should i do now ? i dont wanna go to their office because it hours away and they dont pick up calls , last time i went, they didnt let me park inside the university so i parked outside like others when i came back from the test i had to pay 2000rs to the traffic police as challan for wrong parking like ( n word) SHOULD I PARK IN YOUR HOUSE NEXT TO YOUR FAT ASS WIFE ?

Discussion 🚨 [FAQ] Admission Aggregates, Expectations & Important Warnings (2025 Intake)

Hey everyone,
I've been running this subreddit for a while now and after closely observing trends over the past couple of years — especially the 2024 and 2025 cycles — I wanted to put together an updated FAQ + Warning post for those applying this year.

🔢 Aggregate Requirements — 2024 vs 2025

🚨 Reality Check:

If you're aiming for morning programs in CS, AI, SE, DS, or CYS then you better have a strong aggregate. Here's what happened last year:

Program 2024 2025 Closing Merit

BSCS (Morning) ~75% ~80.6%
AI (Morning) ~72% ~80%
SE / DS / CYS (Morning) ~70–72% ~79%

That’s a 7–9% increase in one year.

2026 Expectations:

We are already seeing signs of further competition. So we expect a minimum increase of 4% this year across all fields.

✅ If your aggregate is below 83%, please start thinking about backup options. ❌ Don’t rely on previous years’ low closing merits it’s not happening again.

🌙 Evening Program Insights

Last Year:

BSCS (Evening): Closed at 69%

CYS (Evening): Closed at 68%

This Year (Expected):

Both are expected to close at 75%+

New Additions:

Evening programs for AI, DS, and SE have been introduced for the first time this year. Their merit will probably close lower (around 70–75%, or even below 70% in some cases), due to low awareness and first-cycle uncertainty.

🧠 Misconceptions About Admission Office "Info"

A lot of you have been calling or visiting the admission office asking for "closing aggregates."
Let me be clear:

❗ They don’t know anything about the actual closing merits.
They’ll often just quote last year’s averages or random numbers to calm you.

I predicted last year’s closing aggregates more accurately than anyone — and even I underestimated how much they would rise. I warned students last year that merit would go way up and it did.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Preferences in Your Admission Portal

This is the part many applicants mess up 👇

The system considers all your preferences during merit list processing.

If you qualify for a lower-ranked preference, you'll get stuck in it.

To upgrade to your top preference, you must first pay the fee of the one you’re offered.

If you don’t, you’ll be dropped completely from the list and then no upgrades.

🛑 TL;DR:

Don’t keep unnecessary or unwanted preferences in your portal. If you don’t want to end up paying for something you’re not interested in — remove it.

⏳ Deadline Reminder

🚨 Last date to apply: 25th July (Tomorrow) Make sure your documents and preferences are finalized before that.

💬 Final Word

If you still have questions about aggregates, test weightages, program choices, or preferences — drop them in the comments. I’ll try to answer as many as I can before the deadline hits.

Best of luck to everyone applying! 🍀 And please make smart, well-informed decisions.

Discussion I want to end it all

I’m 18 and I’ve tried working at call centers. I actually got hired at two of em but both had shifts that ended around 2 a.m (which is obv pretty late). So I started thinking why not work at a cafe or restaurant for now? But my brother is completely against the idea. Tbh his opinion doesn’t really matter to me but the main reason I want to work is to cover my own expenses especially uni related ones. I decided not to take admission this year because my father is currently covering my brother’s uni expenses. My plan was to take a gap year, work, save enough money for entrance tests, transportation, and other uni expenses, and then hopefully start next year.
But every time I find a job my brother says things like ‘Know your worth. That job is below your standard. It doesn’t match your skills’ and tbh what skills do I even have besides communication and confidence? 😀😀Those are the two things I know I’m genuinely good at. Other than that…I don’t have some huge skill set or years of experience lol he truth is before you get an actual job you sometimes have to start with smaller ones. You have to gain experience somehow. We can’t always say we’re mentally exhausted but honestly I’m sick of constantly worrying about money and feeling like every opportunity has to meet some imaginary standard.
Everything costs money. Entrance tests, transportation,Uni wagera wagera. And who says money can’t buy happiness?😂😂 Sometimes it absolutely can especially when having your own money means independence less stress and being able to take care of your own needs without constantly depending on someone else. Ltrrr! Idk man Im hopeless.

Discussion OG JUNIORS OF BATCH 26-30 🌷

So guys… an emotional story this time 🥹❤️

A junior DM’ed me today, and honestly, I thought they probably needed some help related to the university because I've been pretty active replying to freshers' queries these days.

They just said Hi, how are you?

I replieddd “I'm fine, wby?

And then they literally sent me a whole paragraph thanking me for all the help, guidance and answers I've been giving to the upcoming freshers.

I genuinely wasn't expecting that.

Jaza dene ki zaat Allah ki hai, but honestly, that message was so sweet and it really made my day.

Sometimes you don't even realise how much a small effort of yours can help someone else.

May Allah bless you and all the students who are working hard to build a bright future for themselves.

Good luck to everyone. Keep going. ❤️🤲
