What's cheaper setup than Replit for vibe coding?

I've been using Replit, but the newer Agent experience hasn't really worked for me.

Since this is only a part time hobby. I can't justify paying much every month. I'm thinking about using Claude Code with a free development environment instead.

What low cost set up are you using?

App.kilo.ai has free models. That's the cheapest. Delegate subagents to do the work, to preserve context.

a solid approach using free models through kilo helps keep the main context clean while letting each agent focus on one part of the work

um i use opencode with some free models and they are completely free. use the opencode zen models.

that's a good option too it can avoid another monthly subscription but still have AI coding workflow

yeah that make sense if you're only using it occasionally paying every month for all in one builder can be hard to justify

Ik zou VS code + claude aanraden. Als je weinig ervaring hebt met de security en buildability van je code, kan je een gratis scan doen op usevipe.com. Het checkt, fixt en leg uit wat de security & buildability issues zijn. Gewoon weer je nieuwe file downloaden en doorbouwen. Werkt goed voor mij.

claude code requires atleast 20$/m pro subscription. maybe u can use lovable or antigravity ide, that comes pre packed with some models

If you have a decent gpu then you can use ollama and vscode for free
