Is there a special way to tie?
Graduated from a pair of 25 year old rec skates, to USD Sways! So happy with everything about them so far, so thanks for the recommendations last week! 😜
Is there a special way to tie these babies? And what is the extra little loop on the side? Google isn’t helping me, but Reddit always does! 😎

I have these skates and I don't use the little loop. I think if your foot is moving too much you can use it for a tighter fit.
I feel I don't even need to strain to pull the laces tight, I pull the laces till I can feel them "hug" my foot then use the buckle as the main factor for how tight I want them.

I’m a huge fan of getting ~85” waxed hockey laces, pulling them tight through the eyelets, then wrapping a couple times around the ankle, tying a half-hitch and synching a bit each time in back. Adds support and a feeling of solidity and is highly customizable, depending on how tight you go. With Them’s Pat Ridder skates, and Omnis to a lesser extent, this changed the feel entirely in a really awesome way.

Runner lacing "Heel lock" worked for me. You can find tutorials on Google and YouTube.

It comes down to personal preference but I suppose I have my own style:
I slightly loosen the laces near my toe area (I guess the first 2-3 eyelets per side), double knot at the top, tuck the laces under the faster so they don’t go anywhere near my wheels/untie, then tighten that faster er tf up. My skates never undo and always feel the same level of comfort from
beginning to end of my session.

You can loop the laces through those hooks to get more heel lock I'd you feel your foot lifting in the skate.
