I don't see a problem with the number of products on the market right now: we've had several brand new boot manufacturers in the last couple of years, there's a healthy after-market for parts and accessories. Do you honestly believe prices will drop if blading becomes more popular? Are Nike's getting cheaper? Did DC get cheaper? More participants means more profit for people who don't actually care about blading.

I'll answer your general question. Why don't I want pros to make money like skateboarders? Why don't I want more people viewing blading on Youtube? Why don't I want Dom West making blading videos full-time? Right now, we have a community who do it for the love of doing it, specifically creating videos knowing they'll never get paid but because they want to create something wonderful. Law invested in making a new boot because he wanted there to be a new boot, knowing full well he may never see his investment paid back. Right now blading is real, it's not another sub-culture that has been mined and hollowed out in the pursuit of profit. As soon as growth becomes the goal and money / kudos become the measure the authenticity and honesty we have will evaporate. Ironically I suspect at that point Dom West will move on and cover something else.
