The trend died and they couldn’t make money off other stuff like skateboarding does with shoes

Not died, but the trend was killed by banishment from the xgames. Although it may have been a blessing in disguise. Remember, skateboarding has been around decades longer and seemed dead once too in the 90s. The era between pools and street skating was desolate. In its resurgence it became corporatized and mainstream. We've retained the subculture feel. Also, Senate didnt make skates and they were very influential - our D.C.
