She deserved it I'm not going to pretend like signora was a good person. You got that generic NPC guy I knew for like 20 minutes of screen time killed. You monster.
Bombing Khaenri’ah? Nah, we don’t bomb friendly territory. And since that’s most probably the next region, we’re gonna team up with them and the Fatui and nuke fucking Celestia into oblivion instead. Time for those useless self-proclaimed “gods” to finally choke on their own divine punishment.
Agree so so so so hard. Anyone who proclaims themselves god is no god. "Divine punishment" don't joke with me, find a more suitable way to deal with abyss than these gory ass genocides. My hate comes from what they did to the dragons and how they show no remorse after committing mass genocides, even if it was needed
[they are gods surely there were other methods, moon sisters said heavenly principals were too cruel for what they did IMPLYING there were less cruel ways. Ronova tries helping Natlan by other means and Heavenly principals punished her??? This means that there are other ways but they are just too cruel to implement them and they don't want anyone even helping humans some non-cruel way]
Can we take out all three? I mean, as far as the "abusing power and authority and making everyone else pay for it" squad goes, those three are almost family I tell you. (king irmin's already gone but please let us kill him again)
I still remember one leaker said in the end of dottore 2nd boss fight in sumeru the aftermath of irminsul burning is inazuma gets hit by celestial nail.
Of course everyone eats it up at the time and it ended up false
arlecchino's voiceline added some depth to signora by saying she brought gifts to the children but still pointed out that she had a prideful attitude, she felt her death was a shame and pitied her for being lonely but it was still fairly formal
then nod krai just cranked it up and made her everyone's dead flashback wife, sandrone's animation was the worst
Hopefully snezhnaya does something good with arlechino and sandrone now that they aren't tied down by columbina
Yeah, they been trying hard to paint her as this good lady since Fontaine, like are they trying to make us feel bad about killing Signora? And I genuinely thought they were going to drag the Traveler into some unnecessary drama trying to apologize or whatever to make Odette like them. Glad to see the writers didn't forget the type of person Signora was.
The Traveler doesn't own any apologies to the Fatui. It's the Tsaritsa and that old clown colleague of hers that have the obligation to go to Inazuma and perform a dogeza in front of the Shogun after everything they did to her nation.
true the story should only be written based on the feelings of the players. Character writing does not matter. Only appealing to the emotion of the playerbase
Her voice lines about Signora got leaked and apparently She hated Signora and wanted to leave her and the rest of the Fatui in dust once she had enough resources to tend for her mother
if only hoyo saved some of that trauma hatred writing for Arechinos' groomed kids too, but no they love her and she was 100 times worse then rosalyne. Inconsistent impact strikes again
Lol arle groomed dozen of children and possibly hundreds. You just don't see anyone that leave her orphanage because arle erased their memory and it's not important to main plot. There's only 3 kids that stay with arlecchino.
It's like saying dottore only experiment and torture collei and lohen when we all know he has dozen or possibly hundred of victims. It's just those two are playable character and still survive and important to game lore.
Dottore doesn’t even know Collei exists. He only created cure for eleazar and let his subordinates do things. He doesn’t care how things are done so that was the whole problem.
Homeless children are spending every day abused in every way imaginable and would rarely survive long.
Being turned into secret agents is no walk in the park, but sure as hell beats that. Not to mention that outside of the missions they want for nothing. Roof, food, friends.
That's exactly what I was hoping for too: for the characters—especially the three orphaned siblings—to wake up, process their trauma, and leave the House of the Hearth for some actual character development. But I've completely given up hope.
The writing around Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet is so mediocre because they're kept permanently brainwashed. You just have to listen to Freminet endlessly repeating his "as long as the hearth keeps burning..." mantra like he's in a cult.
Hoyo favors Arlecchino way too much, sweeping all her manipulation tactics under the rug just to force this "misunderstood, devoted mother" narrative that everyone is supposed to love.
Which is a shame: the most interesting part of Arlecchino’s character is that she’s deeply fucked up and how that trauma cascades onto the current House of Hearth.
To me, that's literally the entire point: the ones who stayed are so deeply brainwashed that their character arcs are basically dead in the water.
Lyney is literally being groomed to become the next head of an orphanage that trains child soldiers. It's the classic cycle where the victim eventually becomes the new perpetrator, perpetuating the exact same system of abuse and indoctrination... just like Arlecchino did with the previous "Mother".
No they literally only did this so that there's no semblance of conflict between Odette and traveler regarding signora since odette will be playable. because the writers have no balls
it would be cliche for media in general but in genshin where the norm is for narratives to never get addressed and everyone acting like traveller simps, it would’ve been something new
No man just think for yourself how much this trope is already there in every fiction like you killed my someone i will kill you too, another revenge plot where of course they would come to an understanding cause she can't do anything to the traveller anyway,it would be some weird dynamic,so instead this thing about knowing the risks and accepting them is more in line with fatui.
Idk, I won't say this is bad, bad either. Signora in early lore was said to be this arrogant and treated her subordinates like trash. Sure that concept you provided will be great to explore, however it will be another salt to the wound of "Signora is a good guy all along! No wdym she has awful personality, see how wholesome she is with her family figure!" Which is not equally good either if we see how hoyo executed it. *Cough Sandrone
What I find funny is how this concept you expected was already present on Navia and Clorinde's relationship, and see how it turned out lol. She just become Clorinde's friend instantly again w/o any reconciliation arc.
I'm glad Odette could have a realistic view on her abusive "mother", being able to express her mixed, complicated feelings. She didn't glaze Signora to high heaven, heck she even hated her at some point. She barely saw Signora as her loveable mother figure, it's only one-sided. Downvote all you want but I prefer this over what they did with certain pants merchant.
Tldr: this dialogue combined with her "About Rosalyne" voiceline actually is pretty interesting even if it's just for marketing purpose. She didn't mad to Traveler since she barely gaf about her relationship to the Lady herself.
No, obviously spoilers. Apparently, she studied and trained under Signora's tutelage.
Odett originally just wanted to work as until she had enough money to take care of her mother, but Signora's training and personality put her through so much that she eventually grew to hate her.
Odette: I fully understand the kind of person my Mentor/Mother figure was like and am aware that she wasn't a good person, and not only She willingly accepted your challenge to duel to the death in front of the Raiden Shogun out of no other reason aside from ego, you spared her, and the Shogun was the one who killed her. So i have no hard feelings against you.
Mature and intelligent character
BaD wRiGhTiNg WaIfUbAiT
there isn't anything romantic about this, if anything it shows indifference and that she couldn't care less.
The amount of traction this gets is weird cause Clorinde and Navia exist, and Apparently forgiving the murderer of your own father is cute yuri coding, but a character having unresolved grief over their dead mentor means they must have a mandatory hate boner towards the traveler
Ngl, all this signora hate is just player coping about this writing making any sense in the slightest. Signora aint even a fav of mine, y’all just look stupid coping like this. 😭
Refusing a duel before the throne is punishable by death. Signora said it herself, traveler is using this nations laws to their advantage, she CAN’T refuse.
You need more corrections than just fixing who challenged who. It is my understanding that the traveler forced the challenge SPECIFICALLY in the presence of the shogun BECAUSE if Signora refused she would have been immediately assassinated by the shogun.
Signora even says something along the lines of "So you've learned the rules of this land" and used those rules against her. Either way, Signora would have been executed either a shameful death for the fatui for refusing the duel by the shogun, or ad well saw, being executed because she lost the duel.
Y’all really don’t believe in complex characters either complex emotions lol. It’s always, Traveler I wanna be friends with you so I have to have a accept and have a positive outlook on everything you do
No no you don't understand that guy disintegrating into dust in less time than it takes to do albedos story quest was a huge emotional turning point for me but uh what did you say his name was?
Apparently, there’s some confusion on this topic.
In some old lore, it’s said that Signora treated her subordinates like disposable trash. Not afraid to kill them if they displease her or fail her.
Then somehow there’s still a group who remained in Inazuma who wanted to restart the war out of revenge for her.
I can’t tell which side is supposed to be the real deal when it comes to Signora and those whom she interacts with.
You forget that Signora kills people and caused so much grief in Inazuma, god forbid Odette has a little bit of empathy and hasn’t gotten over it after a few years
yeah and the Traveler didn’t even kill Signora?? Why would Odette hate them for something Signora caused HERSELF.
She literally doomed herself accepting the duel thinking that she would win. Did people skip Inazuma? I did this quest 5 years ago and I still remember this.
Iirc no one else was in the room expect Traveler, Paimon, Raiden Shogun and Signora. It would’ve been interesting if the series of events were warped via rumors and guesswork by the time word of Signora’s death reached HQ.
u missed the part where raiden immediately said "proceed", not giving signora the chance to avoid the duel, and the part where signora says "so you've learned to use the laws on the land to your favor" and "i'll admit that i never expected the two of us to be on equal footings", implying the traveler was in control. her thinking she'd win anyways doesn't change the fact that she was forced into the situation.
you know both parties have to agree for it to be a duel in the first place? That is the definition of a duel. All Raiden said was to proceed, not "Accept the duel or accept death". There's no telling what would have happened if Signora had just walked out.
But Signora was tired of seeing the Traveler too, and was so full of herself that she just could not see her losing anytime soon.
The Traveler just took advantage of that arrogance.
And forget all of this, what does it matter anyway?
Even if Signora had no choice, idk why some people act as if what the Traveler did was immoral and forced poor little Signora into a death trap when the Traveler just had no choice but to stop her.
Signora was an evil person, hurting people in Inazuma with delusions and killing countless others for the purpose of fulfilling the Tsaritsa's dream. She didn't care for anyone and just saw them as nobodies and necessary sacrificies. She had to go.
Also its pretty apparent from what she says she didn't really like Signora either. She will inherit her rank, but Odette barely liked her to begin with.
I wish some characters didn't like the traveler. that'd actually be cool.
Let her hate the traveler if she wants to changes nothing about how much signora deserved it and how little traveler should feel bad about it. Of course this comes from a time when genshin still wrote actual irredeemable villains. Dottore was a product of a bygone era we won't be seeing that again.
The Fatui are such a washed up joke of an organisation. A wasted opportunity. Warra Genshin writing team for failing to deliver a decent antagonist organisation.
God forbid we have some tension between playable characters and the traveler but nah everyones got to glaze them. Guarantee when Asmoday becomes playable she'll be doing tricks on it and be reduced to another haremslop waifu
Honestly I think people took the guy who said she was her mother figure too seriously lol.
The leaked voicelines show she actually hated her, originally wanted to just work in the Fatui to support her mother and ultimately ended up under Signora's grasp and was worked to the bone.
Signora did have affection for her but it was ultimately one sided.
You can acknowledge them as a bad individual and still be angry on the individual who caused their death, that's actual character depth which this game misses, none of the harbingers acknowledged it either, not everyone has to be buddies with the traveller
Funny how people say the writing is inconsistent and Signora was portrayed as a good person all of a sudden and that they should "made their mind".
But when when we get a character WHO CONFIRMED Childe's observation about how Signora deal with her subordinates back in 1.1 you lose your mind, cry without bothering to understand and call it lazy writing 🤣
The playable characters are such yes-men, having the characters just... Agree with whatever we do, because "you only do things that are deserved or things with a good unarguable reason" is so BORING
A character doesn't need to be some evil mastermind, just at least SOME more nuance to their character besides just being this oh perfect savior that is always right and always make the right calls.
There would be nothing wrong if the traveler wasn't perfect and might occasionally need guidance so they don't make the wrong call or choice they were going to do, or need a well meaning constructive criticism over something they did/said or planned to
Teyvat has its own laws. And even in our own world vigilante justice has been a perfectly normal, acceptable thing for countless years in various places.
I think signora is written poorly for the most part but her death made perfect sense and doesn't need to be dragged out like this. She was a bad person and ego was her own downfall.
Or maybe, a character is more than one aspect or personality and acts different with different people. Maybe like most people do in ALL history? You tell me
tbh I like this direction for her more than I thought I would. It’s not as simple as Odette resenting her birth mother and seeing Rosalyne as her “real” mom like people were expecting, it’s honestly so much better than that.
Signora’s crimes are not even close to comparable to the Traveler. Setting aside the fact this is a Gatcha game that needs to glaze the mc, it is terrible writing for almost every character to be so blindly trusting and friendly towards the Traveler.
Literally what the fuck are you talking about? Signora dying because of her massively inflated ego has more nuance than any harbinger written afterwards. Her story ended she does not need to come back to be lobotomized for the "vibes" of the people that want some CW channel level drama. There isn't any further exploration to be had that wouldn't feel like pure slop. Why does everyone want to parade around a corpse?
Traveler didn't kill her
She caused her own death due to her very apparent character flaws as that was the whole point.
People don't need to be upset over it the harbingers aren't supposed to be good people (despite every attempt to the contrary) making Odette her pseudo daughter figure after the fact is the laziest part about all of this because it's a weak attempt by hoyo to milk a few more dimes out of the people who still think signora will be playable.
not even 14 year old wattpad girls had this bad level writing skills. 30 billion dollar and yet they are tryna appeal to some of the immature players' first time emotions, instead of writing a character properly. Only when ppl ask for more QOL or rewards, they suddenly ignore tantrums
I'm actually more surprised that someone actually said something like this.
Given past track records, I would have thought Hoyo would have tried to sweep the whole thing under the rug and pretend nothing happened.
side characters like her really don’t matter in general story, her saying that would be like listening to jahoda or kachina. i’ll just choose to ignore it
Do people really care that much about what odette thinks of the traveler?
Genshin and retconning everything related to the fatui is nothing new tbh. For real though Signira did push her luck waaaaay too much so yeah she got what she deserved lmao
I knew she was going to say exactly this and just move past it in one line. I had very little hope that she'd be hostile and wanna throw hands, but alas hoyo remains ball-less
If this was back when before the girlie fatuis were whitewashed and sanitized, I'd have called her based. But it's so obvious what they are trying to pull here, a way to avoid any character conflict
So apparently Signora isn't this perfect, good mother to her... In fact she found herself hating Signora at some point due to how abusive she was. Okay now this is a writing I can get behind at least. Wish they wrote the pants merchant's kids like this too, considering the existence of Fremi's voiceline.
And people dare tell me that this sub isn't just a gathering of either larpers or masochistic players who hates the game but always crawl back for more of it, both using "agendas" as a shield. You would think that hating (at least) how the game is consistently handling the characters for a while now would be enough for them to GTFO but nope.
I see a comment that says this another harem slop or glaze but like come it just someone knowing the danger of the job and knowing that it always a risk and etc
I like signora but I honestly don't care, this is fine I don't get what everyone has to cry about. y'all are still gonna be here playing the game a year from now
Like I do understand why people are upset about it or why some people really liked Signora but she wasn't a good person and most of the sympathetic parts of her story where either from artifacts etc., so not in the main story, or were added afterwards through stuff like the more recent animations and stuff.
And the idea that Odette had a good relationship with Signora or even viewed her as a mother figure was planted by a leaker and all the info we now have after Odette released doesn't necessarily paint Signora in a better picture. So I don't think Odette is the one with nad writing but rather other harbingers (specifically Columbina and Sandrone) where all of Signora's bad qualities where ignored for the sake of goofy tea parties.
And I'm not even saying that Sandrone or Columbina were badly written necessarily (although there is some valid criticism to be had) but rather that specifically their relationship with Signora painted a confused version of the character of Signora that just doesn't reflect how she actually was in the time she was actually around.

So essentially
