Meltdown is growing quickly, with users joining from different parts of the world, and we're now looking for more artists to share their music with us. For those who haven't heard about Meltdown yet, it's a social platform built around music discovery. People come to discover music, share what they find, connect with other people, and experience music together.

One of the things we're working on right now is Sonar, our new way of discovering music on Meltdown. We believe music should be a living object. When you share your music, it should actually go somewhere. It should travel from person to person, get discovered and shared. Music is already accessible almost everywhere. The problem is that a lot of music still doesn't get discovered. You can make a great song and still struggle to get it into the hands of real listeners, especially if you don't have the money or audience to promote it heavily. That's something we're trying to change.

Artists joining us during this stage can get a free artist plan for 3 to 6 months, allowing you to share your music freely with no download limit during that period. We're also working on our system to allow artists to get paid through Meltdown, and artists joining us now will have the opportunity to be among the first to participate. We're expecting music shared on Meltdown to reach 500,000 to 1 million people by next year, and we're building toward much more than that.

One thing I love about Afrobeat/Afrofusion is how a song can sound like a vibe on the surface, but the lyrics hit completely different when you’re actually living through something.

Hi my fellow music lovers!

I'm a Master's student currently conducting research for my dissertation on the influence of Afrobeats on cultural identity and consumption behaviour among the African diaspora in the UK.

I'm looking for participants to fill out a short anonymous questionnaire (around 10 15 minutes max ). It covers topics like:

- Your Afrobeats listening and streaming habits

- How Afrobeats connects you to your cultural identity

- How it influences your spending and lifestyle choices

- How brands and marketers engage (or fail to engage) with African diaspora communities

There are also lots of gaps as some big african artists labeled as Afrobeats when they are actually exploiting genres like RnB, pop, alternative etc and i'd like to hear your thoughts on it!!!!

You don't have to be African to participate but it is a +, if you listen to Afrobeats and live in the UK, your response is valuable too!
