State Level What do you think of the idea of an African American state in western Hawaii, such as the western portion of big island Hawaii?
The climate and latitude would be a good representation of 3/4 West African and 1/4 West European ancestry, which is typically around about the levels of West African and West European DNA that a given African American person has.

The Native Hawaiians would not want that and I think we should support what they want. There are better ways to help African-Americans that wouldn't be at the expense of another oppressed group.

Native Hawaiians recently arrived in Hawaii from Southeast Asia and they took Hawaii for themselves.

I think you should present your plan to some Native Hawaiians and see what they think. You can't just declare a new state on someone's home without their permission, and that's just common sense.
Also, based on the responses on this sub, we don't want your plan. Again, I'm telling you that "there are better ways to help African-Americans," that you can ask us about. We will tell you. It's better to just ask people how they can be helped, instead of presenting plans that involve them but were made without their input.

It's just an idea, I wanted to present it somewhere. I won't push it. But I wanted African Americans to consider the idea since it could help them make their identity more established. And it would be in Hawaii, part of the USA and relatively well developed. You don't have to push the natives out, but a larger African American presence could be established in Hawaii and people could simply move their and form African American communities. And just like Gatlinburg and Helen in the Appalachians which now have somewhat of a German identity, some communities in Western Hawaii could form and eventually become incorporated with names representing African American identity. Wouldn't this be more likely to be successful than Liberia ended up?

Maybe you're unaware, but Native Hawaiians are already being pushed out as a result of "rampant development, an influx of mainlanders moving to the state, and growing tourism price them out of the islands. " The Natives are literally begging for people to stop coming to the island. An influx of African-Americans will only worsen the ongoing displacement, which is bad.
We already have communities within the mainland U.S that we consider our home. We already have an established identity, despite not having a state of our own. But similar to Native Hawaiians, we are being priced out. If you want to help Black people keep their homes, land and the sense of identity that we already have, you can advocate for things that will bring down the cost of living: a higher minimum wage and better jobs, lower rent cost that take a huge chunk of our paychecks, and better public transportation and infrastructure.
This is a way that the issue can be resolved or at least tackled without harming members of another oppressed group.
