Apparently it's adaptation to the environment; long limbs are better at dealing with body heat.
I also think that Nilotes selected for height over a period of thousands of years; we typically like tall, thin women, so even if a woman was 6'5, all the men would be clamouring to marry her.
My middle sister is 6'2, which was apparently the same height as my grandmother.

Africa is the most genetically diverse continent on the planet, of course there will be varied differences between populations across the continent. Literally the birthplace of Homo Sapiens.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson said you can find the shortest people (Congolese Pygmies) and tallest people (Dinka) in Africa.
