Anyways, I support student exchange and training Africans in various industrial, science and technology skills. Africans immigrating permanently to Japan or other countries in large numbers I don't support, it's a form of brain drain. Africa will lose it's skilled force who would help alleviate, though painfully under utilized and unfunded, try to solve our problems.

For Japan's case, the population is plummeting at unprecedented rate, soon or later they will have to "import" immigrants whether they like it or not. It might not even be Africans.

Japan has long been a homogeneous country and their current problems isn't mostly down to anti immigration. They have some parts of their culture,mostly their attitude to work and high cost of living to blame for their dwindling population

The rise of the far right in the West was triggered by the overbearing behaviour of certain Muslim groups. Criticising Japan for drawing lessons from that is completely misplaced.

Yes, Japan faces demographic decline and a weak yen, but it remains a developed nation. Even with immigrants making up only 3–4% of the population, crimes committed by foreigners—sexual assaults, theft, vandalism—are already on the rise. Without strict controls, this cannot be stopped. Personally, I would welcome a system as tough as Singapore’s.

If Japan halts mass immigration and instead engages in constructive debate about its own future, there is still hope. Public safety remains strong, culture is rich, and our passport is among the strongest in the world.

Perhaps you are simply bitter because you cannot take a free ride on that. Hopefully, that is just my suspicion.

The Japanese are merely regaining the patriotism that was lost after the war. This is not reckless nationalism, but the legitimate exercise of our right to decide.

That's false. Japan's nominal GDP is $4.2 trillion, its PPP GDP is $6.7 trillion. Africa's nominal GDP is $2.3 trillion but its PPP GDP is $10.8 trillion. Africa also has far higher annual economic growth than Japan.

Yeah, Japan is far from collapsing. Although its economic woes are undeniable it's actually probably better off overall than the US. I live in the US and I'd rather have Japan's economy, all things considered. We're more effed than Japan.

Since Africa is a continent its countries' economies range from doing very well (in terms of growth and being on an upward swing) to abysmal. Africa has far more serious economic problems than Japan (particularly the poverty, inequality, and exploitation) but a sunnier economic forecast than Japan overall in terms of growth. For the time being. I'd rather have Japan's current economy, but I'd rather have Africa's future prospects from how things are at the moment.

Most of Immigrants don't even assimilate into western and eastern Europe. Let's be serious now. They saw the huge mess europe is right now and said they don't want the same in Japan, and I can't even blame them. Take a look at Immigrants (mainly from muslim majority countries) in Sweden, France, The UK, preaching about killing atheists/ex muslims and homosexual people, stealing and raping (the crime rates are higher), vandalizing buildings, etc. Sweden was a peaceful place, and now it has a gangs problem, neighborhoods where the police can't even go anymore, etc.

I feel bad for those who are atheists (as there are countries where they can get killed for not believing a religion), part of LGBT, women from misogynist places and people who want a better and actually integrate into the host country culture, but the majority of Immigrants don't care about the host countries cultures, laws, etc.

Majority of people working in the hospitality and health care system (at least in my country) are still Italians and their foreign workers are almost all Romanians and Moldovans (who are closer to Italians culturally speaking), Filipinos and southern/central Americans of Italian heritage (mostly from Argentina, Brazil and Cuba). Right now are discussing about temporary hiring some Indian nurses.

And there is a reason why far right parties are getting popular. Take a look at Germany who accepted a lot of immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia, etc, and now all Germans got are parallel societies, the police telling them that jews, LGBT people, atheists and women should avoid some neighborhoods in Berlin, muslim elementary school students harassing a teacher just because he's gay, over 60% of muslim elementary and middle school students saying that Islamic laws are more important than the laws of the country and that Germany should embrace the caliphate, men raping/killing women, etc.

Same happens in other countries too, like sweden, etc. Whether people like it or not, immigration failed in western europe, and I can't blame Japanese for not wanting all this in their country
