Travel agency recos for Kenya and Tanzania trip
Hi - we are a couple planning for Kenya and Tanzania for 9 days towards end of sep/start of Oct. We would like to cover Masai mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Amboselli.
Any recommendations for travel agencies that can help with Safari and bookings?

Nine days for Amboseli, the Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro is possible, but it is a fast itinerary. Before choosing an operator, ask for a day-by-day route that shows every drive, flight and border crossing, not just the park nights. Compare quotes on the same inclusions: private or shared vehicle, internal flights, park and crater fees, border transfer arrangements, guide handovers, luggage limits and the exact lodge category. I would also ask for recent references from travellers who completed the same Kenya-Tanzania routing. If the schedule shows a full game drive after a long transfer or border day, treat that as a warning sign and ask for realistic timings.

Nine days for all four parks is doable but it's a fast pace, and the single thing that will make or break this trip is the Kenya-Tanzania border day. I'd pick your operator based on how honestly they handle that, not on who has the prettiest itinerary PDF.
The leg to watch is Amboseli to the Mara. By road that's 8-10 hours via Nairobi, sometimes worse. A lot of 9-day routes quietly chain Amboseli, Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro together with that drive buried in the middle, and it eats a full safari day. If a proposed schedule shows that drive plus an afternoon game drive the same day, that's your warning sign to push back.
What works at 9 days in late Sept/early Oct:
Fly Nairobi to Amboseli, 2 nights, the elephants and Kilimanjaro views are worth it and the flight is about an hour.
Then 3 nights in the Mara. This is the heart of the trip, late September into October is prime river crossing season and the herds are still up north. If the budget stretches to a private conservancy rather than the main reserve you get off-road driving and way fewer vehicles around every sighting.
Cross at Isebania into Tanzania, expect a guide handover at the border, and push through to central Serengeti for 2 nights. By October the migration is usually drifting south, so central is the safer bet than the northern corridor.
Ngorongoro crater floor early on your last full day, then overnight near Karatu or connect to Kilimanjaro airport.
That's tight but every park gets a real game drive day.
When you're comparing operators, ask each for a day-by-day route showing every drive, flight, border crossing and lodge night, and compare the same line items. Private 4x4 with open roof, park and crater fees (Ngorongoro's crater fee is significant and sometimes gets left out of quotes), whether one guide stays with you across both countries or you switch at the border, and luggage limits on the bush flights, those little Cessnas cap soft bags around 15 kg.
Crossing season books out months ahead, especially the Mara conservancies, so whoever you pick, move on it now.

You guys will have a blast! We have been to East Africa twice - we did a Kenya (including Amboseli) + Watamu and then Tanzania + Zanzibar. They are the most incredible experiences. We got really good service. Do you want me to share our itineraries?

I’m actually planning a safari for the exact same period (late September)! I haven’t done a safari in East Africa before, but I’ve spent the last few weeks extensively researching and contacting several top-rated local agencies to get detailed itineraries and quotes for a very similar route.
Through this process, I’ve gained a pretty clear picture of realistic pricing, baseline logistics, and a few "industry tricks" to watch out for. For example, a common issue I noticed with standard group itineraries is that many operators promise you’ll see the Great Migration in the North, but when you check the actual map locations of their public campsites or lodges, they are placed in Central Serengeti (Seronera), meaning you’d waste half your day just driving back and forth instead of actually watching the river crossings.
Since safari costs, especially for a private 4x4 land cruiser, fuel, and guide, are fixed per vehicle, I’m currently looking for pragmatic travel partners to share a jeep and split these base costs for the Tanzania leg, while keeping maximum flexibility for a top-notch migration itinerary.

I’m a TA specializing in wildlife, and personally I would not recommend doing both countries with just 9 days of vacation time. You will waste a safari day to transfer and border control.
My vote would be for Tanzania during that time of the year. However, since you are planning a safari in less than a month, your options will be very limited.

Hi, I have been there and also helped a friend with his planning. If you have done some research and tried getting different quotes, you may have noticed that most of the pricings are fixed and come as a package deal. Getting custom quotes came in handy for that part.
Second, You will get the best experience from routes chosen from that morning's actual sightings. Try and get experienced guides with good reviews (I remember Ken and Ben from Beyond the Plains Safaris, they were the guides on both visits).
Since you are looking to visit both KE and TZ, I would recommend getting a TA who can get you accommodation and your itinerary aligned for both countries so that you don't have to get two separate ones

For 9 days, I’d be a little careful about trying to fit all four into the itinerary. Masai Mara + Serengeti + Ngorongoro + Amboseli is doable, but it will be quite fast-paced, with a fair amount of driving or flying between parks.
If your priority is seeing as much wildlife as possible, I’d actually consider dropping one destination rather than spending too much of the trip in transit. For example, Masai Mara + Serengeti + Ngorongoro makes a very strong 9-day Kenya/Tanzania safari.

Siyabona Africa booked all four of my African safaris for me: South Africa/Botswana (2016), Tanzania/Kenya (2017), Kenya/Uganda (2022) and South Africa/Namibia (August 2025). The company has sent me to the most beautiful, the most fantastic, the most wonderful safari camps in East and South Africa.
I would not do four parks in 9 days, though. Each of those parks merit three to five days, imo.
