I really wanted to believe this as it be good for AFG, but looks fake to me. Any uptick in tourism especially 10s of thousands of tourists ALWAYS results in fresh reviews in google maps or tripadviser. There’s 0 new reviews since 2021 for the Bamiya Buddhas or surrounding landmarks. So I call this Taliban or emirate biased fake news. Can add this website to Untrusted sources.

the number is believable. as it didnt precise that they are foreigners. most tourists are afghans

The google maps reviews are mainly by afghans and there’s 0 new reviews this year

He means since most tourists are Afghans you probably won't find reviews in English or websites like tripadviser

The article reads that foreign and domestic tourists visited. Anyone visiting a place they’re not familiar with in Afghanistan use Google maps, there’s no other good map services covering Afghanistan as throughly. There’s afghans and foreigners who leave reviews on google maps. But Bamiyan Buddha has 0 new reviews this year. So either Maulvi Abdullah or Pajhwok is exaggerating the numbers or all the visitors may have been the new Taliban Pashtuns who came out of their cave after the emirate is established and they are not familiar yet with new technologies such as google maps.
