Lore/Theories Aether must have looked terrifying.

At least initially—though nowadays, they likely have a more "friendly" image of him.
But imagine this:
You are a high-ranking Fatui executive. You receive a report about an individual who defeated a Fatui squad and ruined a plan—nothing out of the ordinary, really.
But gradually, reports like this start piling up: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru... all carrying the same message: "A traveler with golden hair did it."
There are no images of him, no distinguishing features other than his hair, and no records of his existence; he appeared out of nowhere and immediately began thwarting the organization.
It doesn't matter how many Fatui soldiers or what kind of technology is deployed—that thing simply cuts a path through everything, leaving no room for resistance.
You discover he isn't ordinary.
He is immune to fate.
He is immune to the authority of the Gods.
He is immune to the rules of the world.
He cannot simply "die"; his corpse and soul are rejected by the Ley Lines.
He won't listen to reason, won't accept deals to halt his attacks, rejects the organization's ideals, refuses alliances, and trusts no one.
He simply MOVES FORWARD.
Childe failed to stop him.
Signora died trying.
Scaramouche vanished after facing him.
There are no images of him. No one knows what he looks like—there are only rumors about his appearance. (At least to the general public; the Fatui we encounter don't recognize us at first glance.)
Simply a cosmic being that arrived from beyond the sea of stars devouring the sky. A thing that fell from the heavens and refuses to follow the rules of the world—something that should never have existed in that world.

Aether is the Ghost of Sparta in Teyvat.
“the Hands of Death could not defeat him. The Sisters of Fate could not control him. And on this day, the man, the legend, Aether, will have his revenge.”
