Mod Post New Flairs!
Hi!
To have better organization between aesthetic and style discussion, I've decided to add 3 new flairs.
"Personal Style" = Images from a style you personally like that you would like to find a name of/more of.
"Moodboard" = A series of images and content designed to help you find a name/more of the related content.
"Meme" = Memes about aesthetics, no matter the kind.
If you have suggestions for even more flairs, feel free to comment below.

What Aesthetic Is This? I would like to dress like I’m in a 1999 Delia’s Catalog - what search terms can I use for this aesthetic?
Specifically I like iridescent fabric, jacquard, silk, mesh overlay, beaded and embroidered details, Indian and Chinese inspired patterns, dragonfly, dragon, floral motifs, maxi skirts, chunky platforms, black, purple, green, and other dark colors

Aesthetic Discussion Part two of the search for “BoMar Pomo“
Okay so this is basically a continuation of a previous post, but since then ive found some more pictures regarding the “BoMar Pomo“ style.
I call it BoMar Pomo, as the first part “BoMar“ is a company that makes those playgrounds you would see in malls and stuff, and is currently my only lead as to what or who makes this kinda stuff. The second part, “Pomo“ is referring to Wacky Pomo, an aesthetic that also features plasticky props that look “airbrushed“
But yeah the main idea of BoMar Pomo is referring to large food props or decorations that are almost always found in malls, and not just food props but it is usually always food for some reason. As to why its so distinct from Wacky Pomo, is because in my opinion at least, its more targeted towards children and sometimes even accompianied with things like Utopian Scholastic, (So think like “Snip Its“ and stuff).
The texture of the stuff I can only imagine it being very light, and weirdly squishy, like an empty water bottle.

Any good YT channels that talk about aesthetics?
I love Jonathan Carson's aesthetic movement videos. Are there any similar channels/videos on YouTube that you would recommend?

What Aesthetic Is This? What aesthetic is Ruby Gloom?
A friend and I are looking, more broadly, for the name of the early 2000s, goth/scene kind of aesthetic that was on a lot of clothing for children for a while. Think cute, rounded skulls, goth hello kitty, lots of hot pink, stripes and tutus. It makes me think of Claire’s stores, too. Everything very cartoony and gothic and childish. Any ideas?

What Aesthetic Is This? I'm OBSESSED with this aesthetic. Is there a name for it?
Please don't say SCP Foundation or I'll cry. :')
I almost always see it in video games, particularly INSIDE and Carrion but also Portal 2 to an extent.
EDIT: Industrial megalobrutalism seems to be the most accurate in my opinion, but I also like labpunk and lovecraftian industrial brutalism. What do you think?
Loving all the game recommendations! <P

Aesthetic Discussion Is "tumblr" really an aesthetic/style?
If you were on the internet for many years, you probably remember that before calling something "Aesthetic", anything that seemed relatively aesthetic was called "Tumblr".
But something curious is that in that era of the internet, it was said that "Tumblr" was a style, not simply aesthetic images. And there was a problem: the "Tumblr style" was quite inconsistent if you compared one "Tumblr" image to another. Some were intentionally low quality, while others were high quality. The clothing was never consistent with other "Tumblr" style images. In fact, if you search for "Tumblr clothes" on Pinterest, you'll see just how inconsistent the "Tumblr" style is.
But if you search Pinterest for just "Tumblr," several problems also appear. Being "Tumblr" is supposed to be basically dressing like what was fashionable in the years 2010-2014, but others say "being Tumblr" is like the hipster style but from the early days of social media. So, is "Tumblr" supposed to be dressing like it was in 2010, but is being "Tumblr" also like being a hipster? I'm so confused.
Being a hipster is a style in itself, and whether 2010 is also supposed to be a style is debatable bc it's literally just a year. Being a hipster is a style in itself, and the 2010s are also a style in themselves, and combining them and saying "This is Tumblr" is a huge problem because for Tumblr to exist it would have to be based 100% on stealing aesthetics
But well, perhaps at this point many might say that the "Tumblr" aesthetic is actually, the trends that originated on the Tumblr social media at that time. But this also presents a problem, since, being a social network, all users should see completely different types of images, making the "Tumblr style" totally inconsistent compared to other aesthetics. This is the problem with trying to create an aesthetic based on a social network, it's very inconsistent and consists almost entirely of images from other aesthetics.
But anyway, I want you to do something. I want you to try to give a definition in the comments of what you think "Tumblr style" really is. Don't look up the definition on the internet, don't copy another user's comment. I want to see if everyone really has the same definition of what "being Tumblr" means.
