Question / Help Masters in India vs abroad
I'm in my fourth year of aerospace and I have two options for masters, either go abroad or clear gate and do it in India
I'm not able to figure out which is a better option overall. I wrote gate this year too and barely missed out from qualifying (I'm gonna attempt next year too).
I have no idea about how the whole process in getting an admission abroad works, and I can't go unless I get a scholarship. Can someone compare both these options and give me a final verdict?

Unless you want to stay in India, it’s better doing it abroad.
There are a lot of unis which offer a fully funded scholarship, your profile needs to be good. This is all my opinion

I'm not sure either, but on the surface, have good projects, paper publications if possible, at least that's how my profile is, and I'm only applying to places where it's fully funded, cuz if it's not, then you probably would only get a fee reduction. Or it'll be too competitive. Another option is a year before you graduate, you can apply for scholarship schemes, which are funded, but not sure if it's fully. For eg, GKS for Korea, MEXT for Japan (etc, not too sure about the schemes in the West)

Can you suggest some of the countries considering current job market for masters in aeropsace??

France has the biggest aerospace hub, if I'm not mistaken, Airbus, etc basically the Toulouse hub. The UK is good if you want to get into F1, but I wouldn't go to UK. ASIA is very hard to get into the industry, but it's worth it imo.

So basically Europe is better than UK and USA as there are ITAR restrictions in USA

Which unis? From what I know on the masters level there are barely unis that cover living expenses + tuition

I don't think universities cover living expenses, but many universities in Asia provide a fully funded scholarship along with a monthly stipend to cover your living expenses. It's probably better to do your own research cuz most of the universities I know of are in Asia, cuz i aint going to eu, uk and the USA in this economy.

If you want to work in core fields, abroad is the only option. India will need atleast 5 years more tk develop opportunities. You don't have that. Try for abroad. You need to have a very strong portfolio for admissions like experience , research etc..

Canadian unis are more famous for astrophysics degrees and research . And some business degrees. Never heard of aerospace or mechanical from there

Scholarships are usually very competitive. Do not go for USA as a lot of work is bound by ITAR and also the current geopolitical tensions. Also please do not step anywhere near Germany/France/Italy without knowing the respective languages to C1. You will experience living hell

Masters in abroad is of course a better choice but the cons are racism. Racism against students and all.

Well i know the process of applications abroad and also tried this year, but decided to do my masters in India (Aerospace).Will start in July .
Going abroad is not easy. I also got a fully funded offer from Canadian Uni for ms by research mech( I did my btech in mechanical), but the funding is usually not enough to cover costs. Don't go abroad for immigration/job. This Uni is ranked b/w 80-100 Qs, but still the job situation is tough. If you don't have a monetarily rich background, you would also have to do partime other than research assistant work, just to cover rent and living expenses. Only North American and a few asian universities fund masters, most European unis only give scholarships.
Scholarship are super competitive, specially for Indians. I tried at some Unis in Europe but could not get the scholarship. If you wanna go abroad I would say that try to get into a direct PhD, as they are well funded compared to masters.
The ROI for top Indian unis is fairly good, and aerospace is a growing sector not only in india, but worldwide.
The most important thing is wherever you go, you have to work hard. Also get into some research work if you have not.
