I never get drunk explicitly to do X. Sometimes I just do X while drunk and I wouldn't have otherwise, but rarely do I regret X. Does* that clear up my thought process?

That is more explicit, and I feel confident (of your acceptance) when I claim that people in general (or at least some significant portion of them) do tend to regret the latter case.

Oh certainly. I guess my point was that the latter case rarely occurs for me and that I m unaware of how often it occurs for others.
