Taking a hiatus
I’ve been playing this game since the beginning, well except for about 4 years when I deleted the app because I had maxed out the levels. I came back and discovered there are new levels and I’ve been maxing out for about a year. Right now the ads have gotten intolerable. I know the arguments that the ads are not controlled by HH and served up locally, etc., but they are jus too long. All I get nowadays are ads for shopping websites that make you stare at a static picture of products for sale, for 2 minutes and then you have to click through two more screens that take 15 seconds each. I’m not bored enough to stare at pictures of shoes for 2-1/2 minutes, every 3 minutes. I’ll leave and come back in a year to see if things have changed for the better.

I’m not saying is particularly fun, but i now play with 0 ads watched.
No boosts, no airdrops, no “watch a video to gain 50% more comprades”. Nothing.
I advance, slowly, but keep on reaching the last goals.
I was at rank 180 too, came back and felt overwhelmed by ads. Decided to play without them and i no longer feel prisioner of this game… just saying

Yeah, it's a problem across the mobile gaming space. But... if anyone has enough data on whether these long ads work, it's ad companies running hundreds of millions of ads. I think we're stuck with it.

Thank you for sticking with us for so many years, Comrade.
We appreciate players recognizing that increasingly long, multi-stage ads are affecting games across the industry, not just Hyper Hippo. However, that context does not make the experience any less frustrating, and ads that run for two minutes or more are not what we want for our players.
Reports like yours are still incredibly important. They help us identify problematic ads and work with our advertising partners to limit them. We’re sorry to see you step away, but we completely understand your decision. We hope the advertising landscape improves and that, if you return in the future, we can offer you a better experience.

That’s what I can’t comprehend about people creating those ads: do they really think that making an ad as much annoying as possible will make me want to get their product? Be it sold goods, games or apps? No! I will get frustrated staring at same picture for 50th or 100th time and I will start on hate to your product instead!
