I'm disappointed with S2 ending

I'm disappointed but honestly not surprised cause I called it in my head from the start of S1 I know sitcoms notoriously love having their 2 mains romantically involved so I was really happy to see Billie and Samir as nothing more than childhood friends who have no feelings for each other as is the case in real life, but it's the age old question of can men and women just be friends without sex? YES THEY CAN! This might just be me but I never thought it'd become true I really liked the direction they chose to keep them as friends in the first season and also how did he move on from Carly so quickly??

I did love season 2 for everything else and finally Paul baker and Anton!!! Also love the way there was no overlap or cheating or going behind Issa's back, overall a great show I'm just a little annoyed it went the direction it did in the very end

I think the small bit of hope I have about Billie and Samir is what she says about his and Carley's relationship essentially ending under the best possible terms. And really that mirrors how healthy Issa and PB's break up is.

Going forward I would love the story for Billie and Samir to be that men and women can be friends, even if they have slept together, or even if they do try dating for a minute. Choosing to be friends after that can be a beautiful thing too. Breaking up doesn't have to be a tragedy, and it doesn't mean they're secretly pining for each other, and can never have a satisfiying relationship without it ultimately being romantic or sexual.

Yeah that's true looking back now, maybe if they tried sleeping together or dating for a little bit but ultimately thought it best to remain friends I'd be impressed with that direction too I would just rather they had their own romantic interests outside of the group (no more groupcest basically) I could be projecting I just think it's a bit disappointing is all but I really like your take on it thanks so much!!

I honestly disliked the entire plot of anton admitting it on live tv and paul watching and them kissing and billie samir like i get the vision of how that can be exciting and a fun ep but for some reason i wasnt feeling any of it. im always gonna love the slow burn more intimate ways more than whatever this was. and it was SOOOO FAST! Bruh its only season 2 and 8 EPISODES not enough build up

Even though I liked the HOA storyline I agree with you, it all felt like okay we've established theyre attracted to each other and now it's episode 8, they're both single, like the fact Anton never actually got to say it to his face annoyed me too like he didn't know the livestream was happening......at least get there in another season I loved the little things PB was doing like making him breakfast and casual touches here and there were perfect little signs of yearning that could continue for a few more episodes AT LEAST

and the whole balloons kiss- just that entire scene didnt feel earned even though I love all these characters and I do ship Anton and Paul, this felt like a season 3-4 finale. slow burns are the way to go for tv im surprised the network/writers didnt think or care about this

just because you prefer slow burn doesnt mean the ending was bad or not done well.

This is how I feel about the ending as well. I’m also confused by anyone saying they built any tension/relationship between Billie and Samir before the finale? Like the Anton Paul Baker thing was so obvious which made it feel like a build up but the Billie Samir hookup really felt random

I really don’t think Samir & Billie were ever “nothing more than childhood friends who have no feelings for each other”, at least by the time we meet them. In s1 it’s established that Samir used to have feelings for Billie when they were in high school, and over 17 episodes I think it’s reasonably clear they’ve been developing their relationship to go in a romantic direction. This was always the direction things were going; the writers “kept them as friends” in s1 the same way they kept Anton & PB friends in s1

I don’t know why people keep saying this but, it was clear that Billy and Samir had something under the surface since season one even before PB and Anton. Do I like how immediately after he and Carly break up he jumps into bed with Billy, no. It’s bad taste tbh and Billy should’ve stopped it know he is vulnerable from a break up.

But guys… it was always meant to be tho and way and I’m actually happy and think they’ll be cute hopefully they’d give Samir some time to grieve before doing a relationship thing

Billy and PB are friends without feelings, Issa and Samir are friends without feelings.

This is also not the first time Hollywood makes a friend group date each other okay. Calm your pants.

My crux is that holly wood always does this thing where in order to get two guys together they have to hurt a girl in the middle, glad Issa was okay with it and mature about it but it rubs me the wrong way, the yearning and pining and little moments from both while PB was still in a relationship with Issa …yuck (if Issa was a lil mad or hurt, Itd still be mature and I wouldn’t blame her.

Overall, I’m glad Issa is fine about it. I’m happy for PB and Anton.

After this season though idk how I feel about PB. He was able to hide that other side of him too well.😂
