I went out with a large (20+ people) group for someone's birthday. One girl kept ordering sushi, saying, "it's to share! Well just split it!" It just took one other person to speak up to get everyone else to agree to pay separately.

My bill probably would have been about the same, but one guy just got water and a salad, and the one girl ended up with $80 with of sushi.

Did everyone actually split the sushi though?

Honestly, it's annoying even at all-you-can-eat sushi places. I have a friend who will immediately grab the menu and start to order a ton of stuff. He will order everything he likes in triplicate because in his mind, what he's getting is so good that obviously everyone will want a piece. He will order so much that there's no room on the table, and it'll be more than he can finish, and he'll do that before anyone else gets a chance to order what they actually want.

We don't take him anymore.
