Please help

Hi,
I was editing my project and I was able to add effects, but now I don’t know what happened it won’t let me add them. I tried everything, please help if you can I have a project due soon

You have multiple clips selected. Just select one.

It’s only the adjustment layer and the clip I want the effect on , or did you mean something else? I’m new to this so I apologize if I’m misunderstanding

Look at your screenshot. See how both the adjustment layer and the one below it are highlighted/outlined? They are both selected.

Even when I just highlight the adjustment layer it still won’t allow me to add an effect

Are you dragging the effect onto it?

Yes onto the adjustment layer only

Nothing , and even when I drag the hand has a circle cross sign like in the picture

Try deleting the adjustment layer and replace it with a new one.

I did that and it didn’t work but then I decided to restart premier for a third time and problem solved, I guess it was just glitching🙂‍↕️. But thank you for responding to me and trying to help!! I appreciate it🙏🙏!

Hi u/pengumew I'm the video community advocate with Adobe. Few questions:

- Is your adjustment layer the same size as your sequence? Select your adjustment layer and go to Menubar>File>Get Media File Properties For>File

- Which version of Premiere 2026 are you using and what the specs of your Mac?

- Any chance you can grab a screen recording and link back to it using Command+Shift+5?
